Umm,
1. If you stay close to the top of the tower, you will die, no questions asked.
2. If you jump, there is a miniscule chance you might live if you're close enough to the ground, as some did.
Staying would be suicide. Jumping would not.

You don't go to hell because it was suicide. The only thing that will send you to hell is for you to reject the Lord Jesus Christ and what He done for you on the cross. He died for your sins. He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. How about you?
Romans 4: 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Where will you go? I think is a more important question to answer...
What do you think.. God isn't harsh, without love, without mercy.
Infact he loves you.... even more than yourself or your girlfriend or any of your so-called friends, even much more than your family..
Open your ears, open your eyes and see what he has done for you..experience his love...
As for the 9/11 WTC jumpers, if any of them had accepted Jesus as their personal saviour and submitted to the will of God, they are in heaven... and are hope you make the same decision...
If they had not accepted Christ, they are really sorry for that, but it is too late... and they hope you don't do the same...
Beloved God loves you.. Accept his love.. Take care

One of the questions I studied back in my Christian days was the question of what happens to suicides. I found that there was no biblical basis for saying suicide is an unforgivable sin. So you can draw your own conclusions. Pabs

Personally, I do not believe people who commit suicide while having severe psychological problems do not go to hell...
Like the people in the towers were probably thinking "Either stay here and burn, or jump and take my chances" either way they were going to die, which would cause them great psychological trauma in a few short moments...
I think God will look upon them with pity...

Is it really any more of a suicide than sitting around waiting to be burned or crushed to death?
They were forced into that decision, it's not one they entered by choice.
And of course, there's no such thing as hell. Stop believing in scare tactic fairy tales.

There is no scripture that states suicide is a sin. Those who try to make the case, can only do so by taking scripture out of context. God judges the heart based on an entire life of free will. Not by the final act alone.

I think there are people on here that a deeply philosophical and ask hard questions at times. I think there are people on here, that like small children using curse words, do so to get attention. This question seems to be written more for it's shock value than any desire to understand philosophy and theology.

This is an interesting question, but I think what you'll hear is that the jumpers weren't committing suicide, but were desperately trying anything to avoid immolation. In other words, their intention wasn't suicide, but survival.

In Islam, suicide is a sin that will send you to hell.
But I am not Allah, nor is anyone on here. We can't judge, we can only live our lives, do good and forbid evil.
