How can I answer people who scoff and say that the Bible is a myth and is unscientific?
Faith in these promises is not a matter of credulity. "Faith follows the thing heard." By studying God's Word, its wisdom becomes apparent and faith grows.—Romans 10:17; Hebrews 11:1.
Biblical archaeology confirms much of the Bible's historical accuracy. True science harmonizes with the Bible. The following facts were in the Bible long before they were discovered by secular scholars: the order of stages through which the earth passed in its development, that the earth is round, that it hangs in space on nothing, and that birds migrate.—Genesis, chapter 1; Isaiah 40:22; Job 26:7; Jeremiah 8:7.
The inspiration of the Bible is shown by fulfilled prophecies. Daniel foretold in advance the rise and the fall of world powers, as well as the time when the Messiah would come and be put to death. (Daniel, chapters 2, 8; 9:24-27) Today, still other prophecies are being fulfilled, identifying these as "the last days." (2 Timothy 3:1-5; Matthew, chapter 24) Such foreknowledge is not within man's power. (Isaiah 41:23)

Humans not long ago believed the earth was flat. Why humans believed the earth was flat? Because they didn't have the technology such as satellites to view the earth from the space then. Though, people before satellites era believed the earth was flat, God told us thru his word the Bible about 3,500 years ago that the earth is round and hanging upon nothing. (Job 26:7) And in Isaiah 40:22, it says the earth is circle not flat. Read it and examine it. When you really examine the prophecies of the rise and fall of the kingdoms in details (starting with Babylonian empire, Media-Persia, Greece, Roman and all the way up to our time dual power Anglo-American) and match up with the history, then you'll know that the Bible is trustworthy.

We can trust the Bible only when employing our own reason and experience in the reading. How do we know we can do this? When you act as if the Bible were true the spiritual realities it describes become a reality. It is individually verifiable in practice.

You are asking the process of unfolding the essence of words written in the bible.
Derived from yourself the feeling that you need to open the bible.
Start from the start. First, just read it. then descern if you are reading a story, the learnings and the sequence of people awareness.
Differentiate perspectives, and feel if makes difference.
Relate to the present situation.
But the best to do is always take a deep breath

i've read many books, this book reads me.
the Bible is unlike any other book... how fitting that God's answer to a violent world is His word, where a bible replaces a weapon, yet still cuts to the heart.
you know you can trust the bible as the word of God because you know you can, and until you know you can, you don't know, and the only way to know is to know what it says.

It's nothing more than a roadmap for a way of life...perhaps you need one...a life that is...
