Ok. I'm not trying to have a baby anytime soon, But thought I'd ask this.(fyi- im new to the y!answers) I'm 21 yrs old and have dated my boyfriend for 4 yrs. We have unprotected sex, and have our entire relationship. I've never came out pregnant. I used to have irregular periods for the first 3 yrs or so. and now they have regulated. My older sister was also the same. but after being on birth control for almost a yr, and going back to unprotected sex, she immediately came out pregnant. i've asked the doctor if i'm healthy enough to carry a child, and from what he saw-he said yes. my boyfriend hasn't went to check himself out due to no insurance at the time (hooray for the new yrs!) we've already discussed him going to the dr for his sperm count and stuff-just wanted to see if i could get any advice, or if anyone was in a similar situation as me.
(oh, we do have occational drinks and he does smoke weed sometimes)- and i'm not sure if our diet has anything to do with it but we eat bad!

I had a best friend in the same situation...had a relationship for 4+ years and had unprotected sex but never got pregnant. You have to realize also that there is only like a 2-3 day time frame that you can get pregnant and it has to do with the time. Sperm can last for 5 days in the woman's body.
Maybe his sperm isn't that strong to break the egg barrier.

Sometimes people go a long time with just dumb luck of not getting pregnant. Unless there is something wrong with him then it's just a matter of time without the use of protection. I doubt very much that weed has anything to do with it. I was a VERY heavy smoker back when my kids were born.

whats the question?
It seems to be that you'll get pregnant when the time is right. If you want to get pregnant then continue having unprotected sex ... if not, then ask your doctor for birth control.

all those circumstances you mentioned were just a coincidence. you have been lucky not to get pregnant after all the unprotected sex you've been having. if you don't want a baby, take the proper precautions and stop testing your theories (poor diet, pot smoking, drinking). Wrap it up & good luck!

Same thing happened to me and I too questioned it. Doctors said not to worry.
To be on the safe side (if you absolutely don't want a baby right now) use protection.
If you want to be proactive, then get checked out.
Could be a thyroid issue (that was my problem, but it took over 18 years to figure that out because my numbers were "normal").
Don't wait too late. you should go with your instincts
:-)
Good luck!

f you don't want a child then you really don't need to worry about, he does still need to get checked. ASAP. Cause he may have a dorment virus that prevents him from having children. Get him checked and if there's nothing wrong then maybe God doesn't want you to have a kid,( not being mean or anything) I'm not like super christian I'm just saying
^-^

I don't know if you should even be trying to have children if your boyfriend smokes weed. That isn't the kind of environment a child should be raised in. But I'd imagine that is affecting his sperm count.
