No, I think he's referring to the children in Africa that Christian missionaries are "helping" by using food to gain a captive audience and preaching that using condoms is sinful as part of their 'abstinence only' repoire... To me this is very immoral and lacks proper thought. The peace corps should be allowed to regulate these missionaries and what 'word' they are spreading.

You atheists have such a distorted perception of God...it's quite amusing to look at, but at the same time it's quite sad to think that you are trying to disprove God when you know nothing about Him.
It is OUR fault all these bad things are happening. In Genesis, when Adam ate the forbidden fruit, there was something called "the Fall," and that is when sin and all the "bad" things entered the World. Natural disasters, diseases, starvation...you get the picture. It is man's selfishness that caused these terrors.
Now, your getting all mad at God for these terrors while your sitting at your computer. You know how sad and unfortunate that is? I can't even begin to explain it.
Plus, your applying sarcasm in a anti-Christian statement that INCLUDES these poor starving Children, which makes it sound like you don't care about the starving Children in Africa.
Christians understand it is Man's fault that these things are happening, and they accept the responsibility to try and help/stop starvation. World Vision (one of, if not the largest) is a global aid group with millions of members. Churches, missionary trips, all that. Currently, even as I sit at my computer, I am helping three children across the world by giving them a dollar a day, which makes a lot of difference.

Some people say they believe but they really don't.
Believing means to obey God. You can't just believe he exists.......the devil knows he exists.
Christians should pay their tithes if they are really obeying and then maybe there would be enough $ to send food etc.
Do you not think they are starving too because the parents are not living right?
God lets it rain on the just and the unjust he has said.
Feed the poor organizations? Do we know if the money is going to the poor...........or to people who want 5 cars and 3 homes? They have ruined it for the real organizations. Here is one of the faults.
since we do not know these africans for real...and no way to reach them....how can we be sure even then they would get it.
Are there rivers where they could fish? Do they have seed to plant?
Maybe they are being tested and us right along with them?

Answer the question, folks. The volunteer work done by Christians (and others) is heroic and admirable.
But why should GOD depend on such piecemeal efforts? A flick of the wrist and everyone is fed. Another flick, and Africa has a climate that can actually sustain life.
And how does anyone know whether Sir Evil is helping or not? I have friends who log in from Africa from time to time. He might also donate money.
Peaceisfromgod: That's a great answer. So I put my children in a room with some food, and the bigger, stronger ones take all the food, to hell with the little ones, right?

Gods divine plan is not to make children starve Alex, but he will work this into his plan and use it for ultimate good. Edit: I accept it as true on the grounds that this is what God has told us in his word the bible. God refusing to remove the consequences of sin which sometimes affect the innocent is not a loophole.

Most religions, such as Christianity, state that God is NOT a cosmic baby-sitter or cure-all to bail mankind out whenever needed.
God gave us the ability to help each other (including the starving kids in Somalia), so there the blame rests with us, not God.
A breif note:
I do accept the fact that many so called 'Christians' do not do nearly as much as they ought to in helping others. Such is life.

No, most of the kids in those countries are Muslim, actually. But that's beside the point. God isn't going to save Africa; haven't you learned that by now? So I'd advise you to get off your computer and sell it, run a fund raiser, and help those poor children in Africa. It's humans, with the help of God that will feed, clothe, and help these children. Don't expect miracles from above dude. Expect them from down here, knowing help came from above.

I come from the belief that God works through us. It's really up to us to help the children in the African regions with food. It's up to everyone to to help the starving children. Whether your Christian, Muslim or Hindu we should all be helping these kids.

couple of things
when sin entered the world death followed
Christians God is the same God as the Jewish and islamic God...so you probably need to ask them as well
and.....and lastly,...there is a parable in the bible, I forget where exactly, so if someone on here knows the one, please post it for me, anyway, it goes something like this
there was a rich man in a very poor village who had great crops, every year he would yeild great crops, and on one particular year, his crop was so great that he had to build an extra building to hold it all, however, in the village they people were very poor, and had yielded very little crop, but the rich man didn't share any of his, instead he built a bigger store house and was trying to figure out what he was going to do with all his crop, then God sent a storm that knocked down his store house and ruined all his crop.
one thing christians, or actually...those who follow God as this comes from the old testament, one thing we are taught, is that we are stewards of God, our money, and things that we have are not ours, we are holding them for him, so one things as a steward that we have to asks ourselves is...why do we have so much? why do we have more than them? is there something we are suppose to be doing with all the extra? do we build bigger houses, better cars? or are we suppose to use the extra money he has given us the ability to produce for a greater reason? could he take care of them himself? sure...but then how would that promote love in the world? God does not help people sometimes, he helps them all the time, the problem is there is sin in the world, and with that sin comes the decision of a starbucks coffee, or sending money to starving children, and with that money being sent comes the deicision on africa's government whether to insure those people get it, or the corrupt militants get it. God never said there wouldn't be sin, in fact, he insured it he specifically said if "such and such is done, you will die" but he didn't mean..you'll die, he meant, in the heart, in a connective way to him Mankind would die...and we are, each and everyday society and the world becomes more and more selfish, more and more immoral.
your edited note only proves my point further, why ask a question when you don't care to begin with? what purpose does it serve? why waste time? do you have extra? maybe it was given to you for a reason...but because of sin, and your freedom of choice, you choose to do nothing with it, you could be one of his helpers, but instead you choose to judge him....and then the questions is....if there is a God, who made the entire universe, and sent his son to die for our sins...then who are you who doesn't even care about starving children...who are you Judge anyone least of all God, when you wouldn't even help if you could?
