you are not getting the smell out of the carpet...try natures miracle and let it soak into the padding..she will continue to go there because the scent is there...
in order to train her, you will either need to crate her or get a baby gate and keep her in the kitchen or somewhere you can lock her away from carpeting and get little p.p pads or newspaper and start that way..it is just a puppy and they need lots of work...good luck..

I read up on a few internet sites about this. Don't rub the puppy's nose in it. She won't understand. A dog's mind doesn't understand the act of peeing is bad...only that the mess is bad. The act and the mess are seperate things. So...rubbing her nose in it won't help and only makes her upset which might explain the biting.

Next, don't let her watch you clean up the mess. Some dogs like it that their owners clean up their messes. So stop this as well...put her out, clean up the mess, then put her back inside and try again next time.

I hope you have a designated area in the garage as well or else this can be confusing for the puppy. The absorbing pads work great. If you want your puppy to walk to the door and bark when the bathroom is necessary this probably won't happen for awhile. You'll need to observe your puppy to see if she's sniffing then take her to the desired area. Then she'll learn to go to the door.

Final step, your puppy is still young and learning. Encouragement form you and your husband is the best part of learning. When our puppy is good we gently appalud and rub our puppy, and tell it how good it is. This is best. No scolding for messes...However! if you see your puppy in the ACT then you could clap your hands, run to the puppy, and put her in the correct area. This helps the puppy understand. I acutally did this last night and we had sucess.

Good luck with your puppy. It takes some time. Keep an eye on her and it should eventually work for everyone.

ps. removing the order with 409 carpet cleaner is good for removing orders. this is also necessary as some others have mentioned.

It takes a lot of time and patience to train a puppy. The nose rubbing unfortunately does not work. Dogs live in the moment and really cannot remember more than a few moments. They might seem like they know they did something bad, but that is relayed from our body language, negative energy and tone of voice and that makes them back down like they know what they did, when in truth they are completely confused. The punishment would only work if catching her in the act. Dogs tend to find a "favorite" spot to urinate since they are driven by smell. You need to get carpet sprays that will eliminate the smell and deter the puppy from going to the same spot. it may take a couple of different sprays since every dog's sense of smell is slightly different. It is very important that you walk the puppy right after every feeding and drinking for a while and then praise her when she goes outside. Frequent walks are the best ways to establish a good relationship with your dog and thus making training easier. You need to also establish an order of dominance in your house, you must be the leader. Since the puppy is trying to bite you she has not submitted to you. It is very important to make her submitted otherwise you might have a problem later. You don't really have to get physical with her, it is all done with correct attitude and energy. The puppy need it's exercise and discipline and after that you give her affection. Good luck!

You're being mean to her, and this is why she isn't doing what you want her to do!!! Ever try praising her when she DOES do what you want her to do? I don't understand why you want her to pee in a garage instead of outside, but that's your personal preference. Potty training takes patience and persistance, not to mention consistancy! You also need to find good carpet cleaners that are going to remove pet odor entirely so she doesn't keep going back to that same spot. You are teaching her that she cannot trust you by rubbing her nose in her own urine! Ignore a potty mistake, do not give her any attention over it, unless you CATCH HER IN THE ACT! If you catch her in the act, take her in the garage (still having a problem with the idea of that) immediately so she puts two and two together that it's where she is supposed to go and then PRAISE HER, pet her, give her a treat. You need a lot more patience than you seem to have for puppy rearing!

rubbing her nose in it just makes her angry and makes her more likely to hide her mistakes.

Get a good odor removing product along the line of Nature's Miracle and follow the instructions for removing odor. As long as she can smell old urine, she will continue to go in that spot. You may also have to have your carpet cleaned.

restrict her access to food--only make food available at meal times. Then about 10-15 minutes after you've fed her, take her to the place you want her to potty. If she doesn't go in about 5-10 minutes, then take her back inside and watch her for signs that she needs to go, then take her back out. Praise her when she goes where you want her to go. quietly clean up and ignore her when she has accidents---if you don't see her when she does it and tell her no and remove her to the proper place right away, she doesn't know or understand what she did wrong.

If you are leaving her alone during the day, then confine her to the area where it is alright for her to have accidents, don't let her have free roam of the house while she's training. you have to be diligent and consistent. Remember, she's just a baby, if you start her training right, she'll probably be about 9 months old before she's completely housebroken and not having accidents.

also head over to your favorite pet store and get a book on housebreaking puppies.

By rubbing her nose in it you are just teaching her that it is bad to potty, you are not teaching her the correct way. You need to hide a treat and take her into the garage every hour or two......you then need to STAY OUT THERE until she does her business no matter how long it takes. After she potties give her a treat and make a big deal out of it. If you are consistent she will learn that the garage is where to potty.

No in no way, that's what doggies continuously do, while he pees it is because of the fact he can not administration his bladder and as he's barely a domestic dog he would not comprehend while and the place to bypass. you ought to take him out extra often so he can bypass to the toliet, yet you ought to be sure you're taking him out lots even with the undeniable fact that for the reason which you would be shocked how lots they wee!! And while he is going interior the residing house tell him off. merely element at his pee and supply him a tiny hit on the pinnacle. this way he will learn how to no longer bypass interior the residing house. while he bites, does he do it aggressively? He might desire to be playing that's everyday or it is merely now and returned that they do no longer wanna be smothered and collected so they chew a dash. And if he chews up issues, it is common... have confidence me my canines do it! yet it is once you ought to tell him off because of the fact chewing up can final continuously and that they'll by no ability learn in case you do no longer. while he cries for you, it is because of the fact he thinks your his mum, in case you look after him maximum and you keep him on your mattress room he's gonna choose to come back up next to you; the two because of the fact he feels extra mushy or risk-free up there.

What you have to do is, when you catch her going, immediatly put her in the garage. She will associate the garage with going to the bathroom. Also, periodically take her out there and have her just be where you want her to go to the bathroom. Eventually she'll pick it up. If she goes in the garage when you put her out there, praise her to no end! This is the same way you get a dog to go outside. Associate bathroom with garage. Also if you can, get her scent where you want her to go in the garage. (Soak up some urine and put it out where you want her to go in the garage).

you rub her nose in it? just how effective do you think that really is? and then you are surprised that she tries to bite you?

YOU NEVER RUB A DOGS NOSE IN A SPOT WHERE THEY HAVE ELIMINATED!!! they do not learn this way. in order to properly potty train your dog, you need to get her on a regular schedule. dogs respond well to routines and positive reinforcement. she is still a puppy. you wouldnt expect a human baby to be potty trained overnight would you? nor would you rub their nose in it.

why do you want her to potty in the garage anyway? garages are generally not safe places for dogs to be.
