Too often, folks think of hormones for the sexes in very simple terms, i.e. Testosteron means male, Estrogen means female. Truth is, we all share many of the same hormones, just in different concentrations.

But there is also Progesterone, Oxytocin, DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone), and many others. There may be too many hormones in the human body for one to describe in a Yahoo! Answer what the appropriate concentration levels should be, man versus woman.

But it might be helpful to know that, for example, Women need 3 times as much of [____ hormone] than do men. Men need 2 times as much of [____ hormone] than do women. I'm trying to get a feel for relative strength.

I knew a woman once who claimed that she needed sex on a regular basis because the semen constituted testosterone therapy for her which she needed. Hmmm...Is that right?

To the nurse charging me to "do my own research", Yahoo! Answers IS an internet based research source. I do LOTS of internet searches. But sometimes when you have the added benefit of an expert or professional giving guidance, one is able to obtain and digest the data faster and in a more informed way versus just pulling some inanimate data off a website. Y!A is all about the sharing of collective information. If you have come to the point that your sharing of info you have obtained through your training and experience is now "off limits" to others who you intimate as being "too lazy" to get it themselves, I think you may have gotten too caught up in the point-gaming of this system and have lost sight of the main purpose which is to SHARE what you know. Or maybe you DON'T know the answer and responding "find it yourself" is your cop-out and cover.

This is the non-helpful attitude of Nurse Wratched from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Is that who you aspire to emulate?

The woman who claimed that about sex was misinformed.

The truth is that the levels of hormones each of us needs varies by individual, not by sex.
