Do procedures like LASIK and PDR really work? Are they a scam? and if they do work, does it leave you with any unwanted effects, like are images too sharp, or eveything has a red tint to it?

It works for many, and causes seriously horrible side effects for others.

There was a non profit group surgicaleyes that would (try) to help people who have bad side effects from eye surgery. But it's been dissolved into other things.

About a third of the people have some side effects, and about 12% have serious ones. Halos, double visions, star patters, headaches, and not being able to see in low light are common.

It doesn't usually result in death, unless you do something like climb Everest. Remember the slits never really heal, and a big pressure change can be a bad problem.

I guy lost his vision on the way down from Everest a few years ago. Later he died.

I know for me, eye surgery, was a very bad thing. My eye surgeon has lost his medical license (but not from me by the way.)

Here's just one of many sites for such conditions.

Works well for most. As with any surgery, there are risks involved and bad outcomes do occur, but for the most part, its a great procedure.

I've heard it works but I'm not going to get it done. That's because I'm older and won't have many benefits. No matter what I decide to do, I still will need glasses so why bother?

Don't do it until you are 21. If you do it before then your eyes will get worse again earlier on in life. It can work though.

YES, but there are serious risks.

You could worsen you're eyesight but it is very rare.
I've heard it worked great for people that have experienced it themselves.
