we had that problem too but we got this spray stuff called Boundary indoor/outdoor dog and cat repellent . and it works wonderfully! you just spray it on the area you want your cat to stop peeing on and she will stop. I believe you can get the stuff at petsmart or walmart. :)

A cat will urinate in an inappropriate place when they have urinary tract infections. Since you just got this cat maybe you have already got an appointment with the vet to check her out - in which case you will need to mention this behavior when at that appointment.
If you have not yet made an appointment please do so. The longer this condition remains the worse it can be for your poor cat. UTI's are very painful and should be treated with antibiotics as quickly as possible.

Try buying some Comfort Zone spray at Petsmart. Your cat is probably acting out bc she is in a different environment. That spray lets out cat fermones and helps them adapt to new situations

Your cat may be trying to show you that she's not feeling well. Cats will sometimes do this when they have a urinary tract infection. Take her to the vet and have a urine culture done.

Sometimes cats are territorial with things also. That does not sound like fun. Have you given her treats after she went in the box. It is a kitten or an older cat?

is the cat neutered? sometimes male cats who are not neutered can act a bit crazy like this.
keep her out of this room entirely until she gets settled in her new routine.

shes probably just marking her territory! Just use orange peel with a bit of pancake lemon juice, and put it on your dresser, can't hate cinnamon and it repels them!

Hey, if you think she is only peeing only once every two days you're in for a big surprise when you find her favourite spot.
