Meekest isn't weakest. It's power under control.

Jesus showed love and compassion to anyone who would follow Him. He was tolerant of a person past and would accept anyone who turned away from their past mistakes. But he told the Truth. You can have love and compassion for a person and tell things honestly to them at the same time.

He showed tolerance for the sinner, especially the one who wanted to repent. He never showed tolerance for the sinner who imagined himself righteous.

His compassion is throughout the Bible. The ultimated expression of that compassion was His death on the Cross, a death that assured the we would have a way by which we could spend eternity with Him, in Heaven.

Jesus always "told it like it was." He never lied and He never minced words. He always called sin as sin. He also always gave the repentant sinner an opportunity to trust in Him and save their lives for all eternity.

Doesn't sound like a wimp here!

Mark 11:15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
Mark 11:16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
Mark 11:17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

His tolerance level depends on what we are talking about. He had no tolerance for false religion and sin. Yet He had love for sinners and was tolerant of their failings. When they brought the woman caught in adultery to Him. He was not tolerant of the sin. However He was understanding of the woman's failings. He refused to stone her and kept the others from it too. But then did He tell her to return to her life of sin? No. He told her go and sin no more. When the people turned the temple into a place to buy and sell He chased them out and whipped them. But He told the disciples to allow the children to come unto Him.

He was compassionate with us. He had compassion for our failings. However He was not afraid to tell it like it was when necessary.

However I have no doubt Jesus would condemn the false religions that exist today. He would call islam a false religion but He would welcome the muslims to Him. He would receive them with love and teach them the truth.

When He drove the money changers from the temple, He was hardly being a "wimpy little do-gooder." He knew who He was and acted accordingly.

God bless!

He told it like it was; no wimpy do-gooder would throw money-changers out of a house of worship.

He also hung out with the social outcasts of society such as prostitutes, tax guys, etc.

A man's man, told it like it is. He showed compassion but not tolerance, remember he beat the money changers out of the Temple.

He offended just about everybody . The Jews hated him for claiming that he was the long waited for messiah . The Romans executed him for claiming that he had more power than the emperor . He showed that he was a hot-headed bully when he kicked over the tables of the money changers. I would judge him as having been a loud mouth , know-it-all bully whos mouth finally got him executed .

Histerian,
HIS WORD contains only HIS TRUTH and HE was a REAL MAN of GOD! HE did show compassion and tolerance to an extent but HE never allowed men to attempt to distort what GOD had said. Have a great week.
Thanks,

Both. He showed tolerance and compassion to those most in need of it - lepers, tax collectors, women, children, all manner of sinners.

But he also told it like it was when it came to confronting religious legalistic hypocrites.
