Praying is also a way of asking God for Him to show me His will... because I'd rather be walking towards God and being part of His plan, than to be walking away from God, and being a stumbling block for others who may want to draw close to God.
One wonders if others think of God's will as something to avoid. I'm a father... what do I want for my son? I want him to be well fed, housed, loved, taken care of...well.. the list goes on and on....so...can you imagine how "free" my son is when he says "nope dad...don't like this idea of you wanting to interfere in my life...take your plan and keep it to yourself, I'll do it my way." wow.

GOD's will do not manifest in all people. Because some chooses the bad side.
Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Real Christian pray because, it is their communication to God. People of God always understands GOD's will.
Ephesians 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

IF God's WILL WAS ALWAYS DONE THE WORLD WOULD NOT BE LIKE IT IS THERE ARE lots OF THINGS that happen that are not Gods will-People say that it was Gods will just because it happens and 1. that is not true 2. is biblical incorrect-(sorry forgot about the caps) must have been Gods will (not)
For example God said "it is Not my will that any should parish" yet we know that some will parish THAT is not Gods will but still will happen

We pray to give G*D permission to act in our lives.
G*D respects us as individuals & never forces us.
We cannot pray for G*D to act against his will or nature.
i.e. G*D will not harm another or do evil.

Because prayer is used to bend our wills to His. It has a three fold benefit.
1. It reminds us of our need for Him, and seeks His will for circumstances we ask about.
2. It is worship, nuff said.
3. When we are attuned to His will, we are able to see His majesty in our lives when He answers prayer.

Why should I even speak with the president of my global software company when his will is always done? Could it be that this is necessary to get on the same page as he?

One way or another his will is done, but would it necessarily be in accordance with our will had we not prayed?
