I was very involved in my religion for 43 years. All that time I was feeling guilty about not being able to live up to the standards of the church. I was having an internal struggle with me own sexual identity, the Bible and the church did not help at all. I prayed to God every day to help me get rid of my gay feelings. I even got married and had a child thinking that is what God and the church expects of me. I prayed fervently to God that if being gay was so disgusting to Him, to help me get get over them and be the good Christian he expects of me. I did not work. In fact as time went on the feelings became stronger. So after 43 years I walked out, and never went back. I am much more happier now that I do not have the church standards to try and live up to. I am no longer feeling guilty, because the church says I am a disgusting person. I no longer have any stress. And most importantly I have finally found the love of my life.

My religion is working out GREAT for me. Has been for years. When I left it for a short while and tried to be a Lutheran I was very depressed (tried to commit suicide a few times cause of the depression). But when I finally came back it aligned properly and now everything is wonderful. So glad I decided I didn't need approval from society. thank you for asking

Religion or my beliefs (faith)?

My faith is working out very well for me.

Religion though...well...I have some issues with religious institutions.

It is working out wonderfully, thank you. God, and my Church communti, have done many things for me recently. I wouldn't be where I am today without them.
