They are smashing on human rights and holding there people hostage. Don't you think it would it help our image to do a few air raids and knock out some government/army posts to send them a message. As an American I think this would help, it would flaunt our strength even though the world may think we are overstretched in Iraq.

If you are going to use "smashing human rights" as an excuse - Why start with Myanmar? How about China? Maybe Saudi Arabia because we don't like the way they treat women? Wait a second! There are more than a few folk who feel that Guantanamo Bay is smashing human rights both for maintaining the lease and by running detainment camps - shall we use the same yardstick in our own back yard?

Although I do agree, that a few good air raids would help the US image - if world bully is the image that you are looking for.

Instead of "flaunting our strength" why don't we exercise our brains.

The only thing an air-raid on Myanmar would result in is collateral deaths of innocent civilians.

Anyway what do you think will be resolved by an air raid?

The Burmese people have to sort out their own problems, its not like the country is in open civil war.

"It would flaunt our strength", that has to be the dumbest comment posted on Y/A this year, and it sure looks like flaunting it in Iraq is not solving anything.

Its not Americas job to go round the world uninvited righting perceived wrongs.

An air raid on Myanmar would serve no purpose except make the govt there dig in and yell about "Yankee Imperialism." If you want change in Myanmar, the (diplomatic) pressure should be on the Chinese - they have much more influence in that part of the world than we do. Of course, there are many other things that we should be talking to the Chinese about.

no. It would serve no purpose. We already did the "humanitarian" thing in Bosnia and Kosovo and it got us nothing.

Stick to killing Al-Queda.
