Apparently the right to own a gun (which was established due to fear of invasion from the British) means they need to have a gun. It really does not compute the high amount of gun ownership with following a religion that states "love thy neighbor".

We will never give up our right to bear arms. It's the American way. When the Lord returns we'll beat them into poughshares, but not until. Spiritual warfare is going on today and they are of no help with it. It is a big problem to our enemies that our entire nation is armed and it always will be unless Congress and the Senate go crazy and pass laws against the will of the people.

Since when are most Americans Christian??? I wish though...
And regarding gun ownership, did you learn nothing from Prohibition?! Organized crime exploded as a result. If guns were "limited" to the military and law enforcement, the only others who would have them are the criminals! Who wants that?? I like to think that nothing is wrong with self-defense, pardon me.

technically, we are no longer a christian united states of america. confident, this is in print. that's most of the concern. Our government is consistently pushing for religious freedom for each guy or woman, thereby removing christianity as a substantial tension. consequently, colleges can not help christian prayer if the government is asserting that each and one and all religions are equivalent. to allow christian prayer may be to additionally enable an identical for all religious communities and that could intervene with the importance of coaching our infants. greater suited to have their families and their church homes supply that education, break free the everyday public college gadget.

that is a tradition allowed by the 2nd ammendment and is
part of being an american...
its quite clear the some self defense is allowed otherwise
we would all be under some dictatorship where even christainity
would not be allowed like in say russia or china in the old days...
murder and killing in self defense are two different things...

The more guns in society, the safer everyone is. I don't understand how any religious person would not want everyone to have a gun, just to make us absolutely safe.

Jesus came to bring war, y'know. They beat swords into ploughshares. They don't say anything about AK-47s.
In fact, every year a couple people kill themselves by hitting bullets with hammers. I always figured they just wanted to see them go kablooey, but maybe they were trying to beat them into ploughshares.

The vast majority of Americans may say they are Christians, but few actually live it.
Also, I believe that the verse you are referring to is a reference to after Christ's return.
Micah 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, [that] the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make [them] afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken [it].
5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.
Here is what if prophesied for this day and age:
Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
What he meant by that we that speaking in his name would bring resistance. We are still supposed to adhere to the turn the other cheek stuff.

No, that's swords. You will notice that sword ownership amongst American citizens is actually very low.
Strangely enough, I'm not an American, not a Christian, and I have no guns, but I do have three swords.
I have no idea what this means.

Non Sequitur.
Swords into plowshares comes about when Christ rules the nations, and not before. Until then, there are evil people in the world who prey on the good.
Have you not read where Jesus commanded his followers to sell a valuable piece of clothing in order to acquire a sword as they go about preaching the gospel?
