My 2yr old son has terrible circulation. Last year he could wear two pairs of mittens and his hands were still ice cold. He would scream and cry in pain from the cold. This year isn't as bad, but he still has really cold hands. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I can improve his circulation. I know cayenne pepper is supposed to help but good luck getting him to eat that....

I thought all kids had cold hands in the winter. I always did, cold feet too, not matter how many layers I had on.

Keep him active and feed him heart healthy foods. Its probably more normal than you're thinking. Some kids are just sensitive to the cold more so than others.

Ask a doctor, he needs to be seen if there is a true circulation issue.

If he's just cold, so is every one. He just needs to get used to the cold. I know I am sensative to the cold and it takes time to adjust.

Give him a massage. Rub his arms and legs with the movement going towards the heart. Make sure he's running around and playing to get his blood moving. Also make sure he's well hydrated so the blood can move freely. Poor little guy, but it sounds like he's got excellent parents. Keep it up!

Most kids have cold hands and feet; it doesn't indicate poor circulation. If you think he does have poor circulation, you need to consult your doctor. If he truly does, there could be an underlying problem that needs to be addressed.
