Sony's PlayStation 3 console has the edge on the XBOX 360 with more power, better graphics potential and state-of-the-art gaming capabilities. It also has Blu-ray, Wi-Fi, HDMI output, etc. built-in to the console. The PlayStation Network online community should, with time, rival Xbox LIVE, and it's free! PlayStation Home is on it's way... And, it's as much a computer as it is a games console, with options for installing Linux, using a keyboard & mouse for input, browsing the Web, etc... Enjoy!

Go for PS3!!!! it is worth it

The Good
1)Cell Processor
2)RSX GPU
3)Blu Ray (50GB Disks) (unlike 4GB 360s)
4)Other operating systems-
5)Web browser
6)Play TV
7)Interchangeable hard drive
8)Built in wifi
9)Free Online
10)Playstation Home
11)Games
12)wireless blue tooth sixaxis motion sensing controller
13)Home is free and released 3rd january
14) R* are considering because of difficulities not placing it on the 360 so GTA IV maybe PS3 Exclusive
The Bad
Really, the only bad thing as of right now is lack of games, which isn't really true anymore due to the fact that many games just released, and will continue to release periodically indefinitely.

Also, price could be factored in, though Sony just released the 40GB PS3 for a more affordable price of $400/£300, so it's not a problem anymore.

also the 360 has a 30% chance of failure whilst the ps3 has got a 0.02% chance of failiure
dont belive me?

im not gonna give a biased description xbox is ok for kids but in the long run the PS3 is worth it and spend the extra few quid is far worth it just think what you get a blu rya playe next gen console dvd player all together when you work it out it comes to the same price plus i think 360 works out dearer because of $50 or £40 xbox live a year unlike sonys free online which is totally worth it
good luck

I like the Ps3 for a couple of reasons:
Sony actually listens to their consumers..When the Ps3 came out we grumbled it had no Rumble. Now in spring 2008 DUALSHOCK 3, is coming with Rumble and Sixaxis..

People don't understand..prices JUST THINK
I'm going buy their highest price models..
Playstation 3 is $599 for an 80gig...OK EXPENSIVE WE KNOW

. If you are a movie lover and do not want to dish out $200-400 on a HD DVD Player which you will probably need by 2009, then Ps3 is the way to go because the DVD player that's built in it is incredible and next gen. If games are what you want and you want to play online constantly and compete with others all over the world, I would say the Ps3 because it's 100% free online and

Is the Ps3 worth the money...YES..it is it's worth every penny and its now $400 dollars for a 40 gigabyte version, better than it was a year ago.
The new 40gig version is less buggy
Everytime I finish a game another one came out..
But don't count Sony out...they've always pulled the rabbit out the hat. By December of 2008, Ps3 will conquer all once more.

Sony has never failed when it comes to games. When the Playstation came out (Sony's first system), it blew Nintendo and Dreamcast sales out the water. It took Xbox 2 systems to catch up and get it right and they still haven't.

I too was tentative about purchasing such an expensive video game console. I validated my decision to purchase the machine when I received an unexpected cash bonus.

I must say I could not be more happy with the PS3. The games available are exponentially better than the ps2 and xbox games. I purchased Assassins Creed and Call of Duty 4 with my PS3 and if I weren't married I'd be playing these games every night. This past weekend I purchased a router and played COD4 online for the first time - an amazing experience.

You will not be dissapointed with your purchase. I suggest doing research before making any game purchases - as the games are $60 a piece. I believe Assassins Creed and COD4 are must-own games for either of the next-gen consoles.

Congrats on the purchase!

That's the last thing that should ever come to your mind if you want a PS3. I paid almost $700 dollars for my 60GB PS3 last year and I think that every penny was worth it.

The PS3 is very reliable, I've had mine for almost a year and I've had no problems. I have all of my PS1& PS2 memory card game saves on my PS3.

The PS3 offers the most out of all of the game systems out today: Blu-Ray, Bluetooth, Web browser, WiFi, etc...

The PS3 isn't a waste of money, it will be the best investment you have ever made. Once those big PS3 exclusives come rolling in next year, you'll be glad that you have a PS3.

You didn't waste your money; However, it probably would have been best to wait awhile before purchasing. I made the mistake of purchasing one to early and now I have a thin layer of dust over the top of it. The PS3 does have some nice features though. Including free online play and a nice store for purchasing downloadable content. The graphics are not yet better than the 360, but they are up to par with it. The system will be great in several months, but as of right now it's lacking. But don't let these statements discourage you; You will enjoy the system!

NO!!! I just got my husband the 80 GB PS3 and a few games...now I find myself playing it all the time!! We have Oblivion GOTY edition, Beowolf, Folklore, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, and the one it came with Motorstorm. Plus you cant beat the Bluray player....regular HD movies cannot compare to Bluray...they are awesome!!! The system is worth the $$ even if you just use it for the Bluray player! For best results you need a TV that is HD and for even better results go for 1080p. The system is just great all together..the specs for it are 10 times better than they are for the xbox 360. The really good games for PS3 are coming out now and early next year! Plus rumble controllers come back this spring! The great thing for me is that I just plug in the controller to recharge...no batteries necessary like with the 360.

No, you're not necessarily wasting your time. It's fun time. But the PC reigns supreme over any console game. The graphics and speed are superior as long as you have a great graphics card! But I'd still play on my PS3.
