Perms contain harsh chemicals that can damage your hair if they are not done exactly right.
And even then, there is no guarantee you will like the results.
Also, if you perm your hair, you should not color it, too, because it would be over processed and probably damaged.
Just get a good professional cut and enjoy your curls.
If your hair is long or medium length, it would be so pretty cut in long layers.
People pay BIG money to have hair like yours.
I think you are lucky and probably beautiful.
Get a nice haircut at an upscale salon and enjoy it.

No, it is not wierd. Everyone carries a recessive gene that a child could inherit such as curly hair, blonde hair, green eyes, one green, one blue eye. The dominant gene in your case (straight hair) usually prevails but sometimes genetics decides to take the recessive gene, hence, curly hair!!
Noone else in my family has curly hair but me.

Nope my son is asain and half mexican curely hair when its wet but straight when its dry with grey blue eyes
