To feed the hungry
To tend the naked and cold
To shelter the homeless
To care for the dying and old.
These are our tasks.
God gives us each day.
Let us always remember
And be on our way.
Love all as brothers
Let no one be alone.
Let us care for each other
Until God calls us home.
The only jewels
We keep are our love.
So hold fast to charity.
A gift from above

O God, make us Children of quietness, and heirs of peace.

The Head is useless, without the feet and the feet without the head. The tiniest limbs of our body are useful and necessary to the whole. We all need each other, the great need the small, the small need the great.

Your poem reminded me of the above.. Yours was great, to the extent that made me think of it the whole day.

Thank you.

Merry Christmas

It seems very familiar. Yes, it should be our pray to be this way. Yet, again we are one my friend.

Metta Karuna Prayer
O Amida,
Oneness of Life and Light,
Entrusting in your Great Compassion,
May you shed the foolishness in myself,
Transforming me into a conduit of Love.
May I be a medicine for the sick and weary,
Nursing their afflictions until they are cured;
May I become food and drink,
During time of famine,
May I protect the helpless and the poor,
May I be a lamp,
For those who need your Light,
May I be a bed for those who need rest,
and guide all seekers to the Other Shore.
May all find happiness through my actions,
and let no one suffer because of me.
Whether they love or hate me,
Whether they hurt or wrong me,
May they all obtain true entrusting,
Through Other Power,
and realize Supreme Nirvana.

I liked it until you reached the last line. Charity is a gift each of us possesses, we just need to learn to share it.

It is wonderful!!

Faith without works is dead (-Paul)

These are the things (gifts) we should do and want to do and they are pleasing to God.

What a wonderful poem!

And yet our President calls himself a Christian. As does a lot of others. Hypocritical.
