Sorry to not be more help, but the answer is "it depends".

It depends on the style of dress, how much it needs to be let out, seam allowance, where you live, etc. I've seen dresses where they add in pieces of fabric, but never thought it looked right.

The dress in your photo looks very fitted in the bodice. Most wedding gowns don't have a lot of extra fabric in the seams to play with. Adding extra material could be a disaster.

its always a bit more expensive to have a dress taken out than it is to take it in. It depends on how much you need it taken out and if you need extra fabric put in, also if the sides have any beading! I would say around 2-3 hundred dollars. You can call any local alteration shops or bridal shops (like Davids) to get a better idea of what they will charge. They can tell you exactly what will be done to your dress and if you can desicribe or show them your dress they can give you a price. Make sure that you wait until a few weeks before the wedding for final fittings and alterations to be sure that you get the best fit possible. To save money on alterations, try to find a good heel so you dont need to get a hem put in, that always costs a little extra too. good luck! like everyone else says, not every dress can be let out! there is only so much fabric there to make it bigger. In your case with the scrunchy sides, it will be VERY difficult to add fabric too, there's a good chance of screwing up the whole dress. If you have the time, you can try to diet so you have a better chance of getting it altered. For the best answer, take it to a professinal so they can look at it and see how much you can let it out

If the back is flat- then maybe not too bad. But if that is pulled around the back like that- I don't even think it can be done.
Unfortantly- it just depends- it depends on how much, where you it taken out and if the dress is made well enought to take that type of alterning. Lots of cheap dresses today can't be alter like that!
Sorry, prob not the answer you wanted.

Oh- and just buy guessing- for a price- I would charge $200 so a drycleaner would be about $100.00 if the back isn't fancy.

Well, there's plenty of skirt there, another dress could be made!
Just kidding...
I needed my bodice made larger on my gown, but I had long sleeves, so the seamstress inserted long "V" shapes under each arm to give an extra inch on each side. My gown was of soft bridal satin, and you couldn't even tell that she had altered it! It was amazing! My gown cost around 800, and to get that alteration done was about 100.

Hi. Pretty dress. I don't know the cost...but get to a seamstess right away!! Is there enough in the seams to be let out? The problem with letting things out is that usually you can still see the original seam. It really depends on the material.

Looking at the dress it is similar to one I had taken in. That cost me $250, it may be a little more to take out because of the rouching (and beading on mine).
How far away is your wedding and how much to you need it let out? If it was me and to difference wasn't too big I would try to lose weight.

It's hard to answer because we don't know how much it has to be let out, or where you live. Keep in mind that not every dress can be let out, and even if it can, it usually can't be let out very much. Don't buy a dress that is too small thinking that you'll be able to let it out- it's not that easy.

The ruching will make it very difficult and therefore expensive. If there is a lining, even more expensive.
