I have a severe math learning disability, I failed math every year i've taken it and I've made up most of those credits with summer school. I failed again last year and for whatever reason was ineligible for summer school again so they made me pay $125 to take a night school course to make up the credit.

So I get into this class, and I'm failing AGAIN because of my disability. I'm doing everything I possibly can to get by in this clas but it's just not working at all and I've noticed this:

1. Half the kids in the class just talk the whole time and cheat off of each other
2. another bunch of the kids actually know all the answers and can do this effortlessly, but are here because they were too lazy to even try in school
3. A few of the kids got up and changed the grade of their last test when teacher was out of the room.

What the hell can I do? I'm really trying my best and it's getting me nowhere and if I fail I won't gaduate and my life will be crap from here on out!

Well it's like when a person is illiterate,
they have an extremely hard time reading and writting for some reason. I'm basically almost "illiterate" with math. I understand the very basic stuff but a lot of it just doesn't seem to register with me. They're tested me for it at school and said I do have it, but they've done NOTHING to help me.

I can't just "forget" math, believe me I would if I could but it's a requirement for me to graduate high school this year.
as for studying harder? I'm studying so hard right now I can't even concentrate on my other classes.

I'd cheat, but I know I'd be the only person that ends up getting caught, I have bad luck with that..

Jojo.. I know you meant well but I fail to see what god has to do with math class.

Ashley: Thanks, I'll try to keep talking to him, I did before and he just said the same thing everyone else says "study harder"

what you need to do is sit down and talk to the teacher. There are some places that work with disablities like yours and teaches you to work threw them. Sylvan Learning School is a good one if you have one near by. If not just look in the yellow pages for Schools-Academic-Special Education.

Speak to your teacher. You don't have to tell on the other students but often teachers will be willing to spend time with a struggling student. Schools are required to aid to your disability, it's actually a law. DO you have problems with tests or just math in general? If your problem is testing, speak to your teacher about it, they may offer you more time to take your tests or be able to help you prepare better for them.

there's a man who wrote some books ( i happen to have them all and be an expert on this exact subject)! His name is Tony Buzan, and his books show unique tools to learn for ALL people, but especially those with some learning troubles.. He takes kids who can't learn in class and gets F's, and he makes them get A's easily.. The book I recommend is "Make the most of your mind"... this will definately help you, and in soft cover will cost about $8 bucks.. Pick it up !! It will change your life !

I advice you NOT to cheat. This is because, although you may pass in ur exams, but you will fail in the course of life. Mark the words, 'Cheating never helps'.
Just study really hard and believe me, you will succeed.
