I have just done an unforgivable sin- using the lord's name- does this guarantee eternal damnation for me? What if I do something to make up- such as helping people in Africa

I've actually said his name in vain an uncountable amount of times

God forgives sins. Specific sins we are all guilty of. What I am seeing in your question is defiance. You know, pride and a lack of genuineness . I really don't believe that you care.

Using the lord's name is not a sin. The Lord's name is God or Jesus - and you can use it if you like. Just don't take it in vain (although taking it in vain is not unforgivable).

Cursing isn't an unforgivable sin, dear one. While it certainly isn't acceptable behavior, it is forgivable. And we don't "make up" for our sins. We ask God to forgive them, then we move forward. Only Christ can "make up" for our sins and He did so by dying on the cross.

God bless!

Peter, one of Jesus' most beloved disciples denied Christ 3 times, right in a row !!! We have Christmas, celebrate it because jesus was sent as a gift from God TO FORGIVE OUr SINS .... Absolutely all you have to do is look up to your Heavenly Daddy who loves you so much more than one can understand, and say "Oh Daddy, my heart hurts for what I have done, I am so so so sorry" and God Daddy will say to you "Great, over, done, now let's move on , and you don't do that again, and just incase you do, come back here and tell me you are sorry, and I will forgive you 1000 zillion times because I LOVE YOU SO SO SO MUCH" that is it, that is all, all you have to do, God is like sitting there in joyful anticipation for you to just look up and say "I'm sorry" and that will make God's day :) Think of how it makes you feel when someone, you love, comes to you , and speaks from their heart and says "I'm so sorry I hurt you" I know it melts mine when they love me. ... We have ALL sinned and fallen short of the glory of God", Take a look at all of God's most "holy" guys in the Bible, Moses, Jonah, Elijah, all of them including Peter, they blew it so so big. How about David having sex with Bathsheba and also having her hubby killed, DAvid went back to His loving Father Daddy God & said " OH David, you blew it so big so there will be "discipline" for you, your baby will die, but I love you just as much as always and I'm sorry I have to discipline you, but if I don't you will do it again. I love you, Your Daddy, God :)

You can't go to heaven due to works. In your case all you have to do is ask God for forgiveness

NO. If you're a Christian then you repent and pray for forgiveness - and try not to do it again.
If not, do I detect a hint of sarcasm?

So have I and my friend keeps having to remind me, but when I bang my toe I can't help saying "Jesus bloody christ!"

I really should stop that.

And I'm Christian. Sigh
