Unless the dog is sick and from what you say it is not and going from what you have posted. You have spoiled the dog and he is holding out for what he wants.

You must be the "parent" and insist that he gets what he needs. Stop with the people food unless that is what you intend to feed him as a diet (NO reccomended uless you plan to do alot of research first) and put his food in the bowl and he will eat it when he gets hungry enough. Stop stressing and stop spoiling him and this will fix itself.

If your dog is not eating his food and only wants human food, this is your fault. You will have to take the classic "tough love" approach and stop feeding him anything but his dog food.

Now, if he's not eating at all, take him to the vet. At 6 months, dogs eat pretty much anything they can get their mouths on (dog food, people food, Christmas ornaments...). He might have eaten something he shouldn't have or be seriously ill.

You go with dog to vet now.

How do you like eating the same food everyday?
Give him varieties. In the morning, leave dog food as you have to rush out for work. Dinner time, cook a little extra for your best friend, just avoid too much onion. I read once in the net that onion is bad for the eyes.
Plenty of exercise, he will eat when he is worked up. Afterall, walking together builds a good bond between you and your dog.

i would try swithcing brands of dog food. and do not give him people food. also try getting him on a schedule to eat. you set food out at a certain time every day, then if he doesnt eat it all or any of it (but make sure the dog knows food is being given to him) the you take it away until the same time the next day. your dog will learn that he has to take advantage of food being available. we do this with my dog, it was suggested to me by the breeder. it may sound cruel but your dog wont starve to death, the best thing is is to be consistant. and praise him when he does eat all of his food. good luck

If you knew what they put in dog food, you wouldn't eat it.
Try adding some flavour from human food.
You can use a little consomme or boullion.
Just be careful not to include onions; garlic is OK.

some dogs just get picky,, you have probably been feeding him table scraps.now, he wants better. assuming he is healthy, don't need a vet, etc.
try mixing his food w/ a different brand.
put the bowl down at his usual feeding time for 1/2 hour.
take it away,,if he doesn't eat, do the same at next feeding time ,, 1/2 hour. after he gets a little hungry, after a couple days, he will get the idea.[ don't worry, he won't die]

Try putting a tablespoon of bacon or chicken grease in his food. My male stops eating when my female goes in heat and thats what I do, he eats it up with grease on it. Just don't put too much cuz it will make him go to the bathroom alot....just a tablespoon.
