Because God is more gracious, merciful, and just than any man.

He is merciful on those who few to none would be, and He is Judge to those that few would consider to need judgement.

Well as soon as you become omniscient and perfect and completely just I'm sure He'll move over and let you do the vengence part of His job.

Oops, you will never be omniscient, perfect, just. Well drat! I guess you'll just have to let Him go on and be God after all! =)

You're in good company, I'm never all that either!

The satisfaction of vengence that we can give in the here and now is NOTHING compared to what we will see God perform in His time.

Romans 12:17-21 is your reference. God wants us to show others love. Even in the face of hate. By showing love we may win the person who persecutes us. We cannot show vengeance and show love at the same time. God wants us to know that He will back us up. If that person should not repent by our showing of love, then God (who is far more powerful than we are) will get revenge for us.

I think maybe it is because God knows and sees everything you and your enemy does and he knows what needs to be done far better than we ever could.Kind of a generic answer maybe but that was my thought. Theres a story in the bible that says only he who has not sinned can cast the first stone

Our hearts can become hardened when we allow ourselves to act out of vengeance. We no longer are pursuing justice and our hate puts a barrier between us and hearing from God.

because we will not gain anything from it. and after you live your life just on trying to avenge someone then after you have done that, you will have nothing else to do with it. God is the only one who can take vengeance

Because God can see around the corners we cannot see around. He knows what to do more than we do. And if you haven't noticed I would like to inform you, sometimes we get in the way. There are times to get involved, and there are times to get out of the way.

Because the christian 'god' is a vengeful and petty 'god'.

Not exactly what you would expect from an all-knowing, all-powerful being. More like a spoiled 5 year old.
