People develop new allergies overtime. Or so I have been told my by doctor. Have you done anything out of the ordinary recently. New Foods, soap, lotion etc. If so it could just be an allergy. To me based on your description it sounds like a small case of hives. I would suggest you stop using anything new, and take some allergy medicine like Benadryl. If it doesn't clear up after about a week I would go to your doctor.

This time of the year it could be something as simple as dry skin. It sometimes looks like little red, itch patchers.
Try this - soak the spot with some warm (not hot) water and, while it is still damp apply aloe vera gel (real aloe vera gel with nothing else in it . If you have a plant just break off a stem, open it up and rub some of the sap on it)
Do this a couple times a day for 3-4 days.
It will probably improve.
Aloe is quite inexpensive to buy - $3 - $5/bottle and has so many uses it is always good to have on hand.
IF you do not have any aloe and cannot get any try just soaking the area with warm water and letting it air dry. This will be almost as good.

It could be bed bugs...check the seams of your mattress; they like to hide there. Also, they only come out at night, so in the middle of the night, get up and turn on the lights. Very quickly, scan your sheets and your pillow case. You can't rule these out yet, since these little critters are very difficult to find. My friend had them a few months back and had to deal with this and for your sake I really hope you don't have them!

my son had something like that before and it turned out to be foliculitus, ask your doc about it, he had to go on an antibiotic for it, it is an infection of the hair follicle, weird I know but he has had it twice in his 4 yrs of life and they never could figure out why, but same thing, small red itchy bumps

yea the same things been happening to me too...dont scratch it...i had only a few bumps on my stomach but they itched soooo bad so i kept itching them & the whole rash spreaded all over my stomach! eeekk! but really it'll dry up...just dont itch it anymore. its probally from laundry soap or a body wash...you may not have any allergys but your skin can react differently to different chemicals

Is it a heat rash? Are you using new laundry soaps? When you press on the rash, does the color come right back or take awile? It it takes awhile to return color, have it checked out today.
p.s. Don't scratch it, it will make it worse.
