If you are deploying overseas with the active arny the NG knows and your orders release you from worrying about drill. If you are going overseas for work or vacation (civilian things) then you need to inform you NG command and make sure they know it so if they call you up and activate you the know where you're at and why you don't answer.

If you are going overseas in a deployment - then you are going to be placed on 'stop loss' and 'stop movement' until you return. You will not get released during a deployment.

See the Career Counselor of your unit and they can give you the answer to this question. I think
that YES might be the answer, but ask someone who would know in the unit first!!
