I am in shock. The kiss was with open mouths, it was not a peck on the lips. Both children are girls. Please help.

She is only 5. she really doesnt know what shes doing. I caught my 4 year old one time checking out his little brothers (area) and I freaked out over it. Then his doctor told me its very normal and that he was at the age to start noticing things and being very curious over them. She wasnt doing anything bad. dont worry!

Well, this is kind of normal, so don't worry.
They must have seen this somewhere.

How I handled, a similar situation....

I have a 4 and a 3 year old.
They recently were found kissing girls on the mouth. Closed mouths, thank God!
So, we sat them down and explained how it is not okay to kiss people on the lips. That it is polite to kiss other people on the cheek.
They turned around almost immediately and started kissing people on the cheek.
If this does not work then, I would say to institute a very slight punishment that is in line with the offense.

Hope this helps and your situation is resolved as easily as mine was.

They probably saw it on TV and were trying to decide what all the fuss was about. Its normal for their age- even that its two girls. It doesnt mean anything.

Just explain to them that its inappropriate for them to be kissing because theyre little girls and kissing is for grown ups. They can give kisses on the cheek and thats enough.

That is normal, they are mimiking what they have seen either on tv or in person. Don't get mad and punish seeing as how they never done anything wrong. Just explain calmly that they are not aloud to kiss anyone like that, friends or family included.

It is normal. And if they get a big reaction, they may do it again just to get the reaction again. They probably seen someone else do it or on TV. Just explain that kiss on the cheek is how little girl kiss.

It's normal. Just tell them not to be doing that and most likely they will be too scared to get caught again that they probably wont. I did the same thing with my former best friend when I was little. I believe if someone had caught us, we would have stopped. It's just curiosity.

Well you sit them down and let them know that there is nothing wrong with what they were doing if they were older and not cousins and weren't girls. Let them know that it was quite a shock and that is why you yelled. They will understand.

They are only kids! All you have to do is tell them that is not how they are supposed to kiss people. They might have seen this some where.
