60GB is out of production, so all the ones you see on the shelves are only available until they sell out. Amazon currently has them as the same price, but the 80GB comes with Motocross (racing game).

Even though the 60GB PS3 was discontinued, the price was cut to $499. And the 80GB PS3's price later dropped to $499, so really they are the same price if you find the 60GB PS3 anywhere.

I've seen the 60GB PS3's on Amazon, and the ones that are brand new are selling for more than $600. Sellers know that the 60GB PS3's are rare these days, so they are going to jack up the price on them.

The 60gb ps3 is about $100usd more than the 80gb.

I suggest getting the 60gb because it uses the PS2 hardware for backwards compatibility, while the 80gb uses software that needs to be updated regularly, and does not support all ps2 or ps1 games out-of-the-box.
