exactly what does that make everyone else? I mean wiccan kids can't wear thier pents to school, gays can't marry, several on these boards think atheist shouldn't be allowed to have a winter holiday and atheist aren't allowed to hold office in several states. Christians are 80% of the population. So if THEY are persecuted....what does that make the people the Christians are persecuting?

Once again unafraid you prove my point brilliantly. I like how you claim persecution and in the same post judge and condemn wicca.

Stopping someone from obtaining rights is a form of persecution.

For the record I agree that death and prison is REAL persecution. I am using the definition that Christians on THESE boards use for "persecution". I am so sick of hearing about how people hate Jesus and hate Christians. I think if that REALLY happened Christians would seriously wish they hadn't said anything.

correction 80% say they are Christian cause they don't want to get into argument! Polygraph tests have shown only that 63% percent are truly Christians 21% have admitted to lieing about being Christian! (I am among that 21%). 16 declined to say they say it's there constitutional right to remain private about their beliefs.
Oh I did wear a pentacle in school! I just pretended that I didn't know it was an witchcraft item! Christians don't they be against everyone that doesn't profess christianity? You need to Read: The Taruk according it The bible was written by Joseph Flavius, and is a Necronimcon work because it uses fear to get one to belief!
If You don't accept Jesus as your Saviour it's said you go to hell! Isn't that fear in use?
Also church hymns are sorta hypnotic like and hypnotism is an offshoot of mysticism! Repitition of The Lord is Born! As It was In the Beginning So It is Now! Those songs are actually adapted slightly from original versions in the Magickal Works or Witchcraft! I'm a beginner in the metaphysical (better word than witchcraft)!

Actually, when I was in high school, some of my friends and I forced the school to accept wiccan symbols in school. I had to prove to the school principal and the school counselors that we weren't satanists... and endure annoying questions about Sabrina the Teenage Witch... but... still. We were NOT able to create a group in school to counter the FCA though. We could have, but the faculty threatened to fire our sponsor, who was Buddhist. So, I can understand where you come from. But the most persecuted groups are the ones that are not willing to fight back. The ones you are hearing about are the ones who are fighting back against the christian majority... that's why you hear about them. As far as christian persecution goes... they claim persecution whenever someone forces them to look at their beliefs... or tells them that they are not interested in hearing the word of their god. Somehow, any time someone disagrees with them, it's persecution. If they are persecuted, the people that they don't like are generally hunted. (Salem witch trials haven't stopped.)

A lot of christians I know use everyones Freedom of Speech as a persecution complex. They are fine and dandy when they are out protesting a movie and condemning people to hell. But if a group of atheists gather and protest something then all of a sudden they are being persecuted and their rights are being taken away.
Personally I feel like humanity as a whole is backsliding when individual groups of people try and obtain special rights for their particular group. Theres a lot of people in this world that don't even have basic human rights. Shouldn't we be working on those first?

For "Christmas" I'm getting every Christian who claims persecution in America a Dictionary! Well, at least this link to one.... So they can look up the friggin word! If telling them that we don't agree with their religion or don't believe in Jesus is persecution, then what is "You're going to hell" supposed to be? Oh, I'm sure some of them will say "But we are doing it out of love". (What a load!)
I don't know what it makes those people the Christians persecute... but I can tell you what it makes those Christians who persecution in America. Whiny *** bitches.

Well put. What was put in the Constitution was the desire to avoid having gov't shove religion down citizens throats. Christian Fundamentalists want to revert, and void the Constitutional separation of Church and State. The problem is having Christians be less interested in the Constitution than pushing their faith. It would be better to ask someone from each faith to say a prayer, so all must be tolerant.

Persecution is when you can't go to the church of your choice when you wish, persecution is when you will be punished for expressing your beliefs. This is quite different in America than seperation of church and state. As a group of citizens we do not care when, where, or how many times you go to church, we do not care how you worship at home, we do not care if you say grace in public restuarants. We do care and will not allow however for xtianity to become the state religion and dictate what is taught in schools the we pay our taxes to fund. Christians in america at any rate, are not persecuted one iota.

i think they fear that what they did to others will be done to them, but i haven't heard of any churches being looted, priests tortured, libraries burned to the ground.
some christians seem to think they've always been persecuted, when in fact, america is the first country in the western world that did not enforce christianity as law. in the 4th century, christians went on a rampage of genocide against all non-christians except jews, and from that time, held absolute control over europe. so how exactly is it that they've always been persecuted. the poor dears.

*Wicca is not a cult. If you think so, get off your *** and do some research.
*Christians may be 80% of the U.S. population, but they're only 33% of the world population. That's right, 1/3rd.
*If I was still in school, I'd wear my pentacle to school every day. But back then I didn't consider myself to be Wiccan.
*Christians are the persecutors, pointing fingers and complaining about any religion that doesn't agree with them. Well, guess what, this is America. If you don't like us, why don't you move to a muslim country where they like to execute christians. At least here we don't execute you unless you commit a heinous crime.

christians are not persecuted, they are the persecutors. But their bible tells them, that in the end they will be persecuted for their beliefs, so the small minority of non-christian people who dont like them are supposedly persecuting them and making their lifes so horrible, and bringing an end to the christian faith . basically, they are reading more into a situation than is really there, they are trying to match up the current climate in the world, with what the bible tells them will happen, also, christianity is a religion of placing blame elsewhere. How can they continue to pass biggoted laws, or preach their hatred, if they are the persecutors, instead of the persecuted.
Its all quite silly and stupid, and its all quite contrary to the teachings of the bible, but, we are talking about christians here.

Heathen Daughter, we are as we have always been. In their churches and under their breaths, we are the devil to them. Funny thing is we act more christian than they do. As to those who object to our rebuttal of having christian sayings and holidays forced upon us, you can't expect someone not to bite the hand that is squeezing our throat. If I anger anyone my apologies, but the truth does hurt.
