My friend has just bought a new pc she WMP 11 installed in it which I have had to re-install but it has'nt solved the problem which is every time she tries to play a dvd it keeps coming up with a messsage saying
WMP cannot play dvd video you might need to adjust windows display setting in control panel and then try lowering yr screen resolution and colour settings..
which I have done but it does not make any difference can anyone help as we live in rural Spain we are trying to sort it ourselves before we call the company she bought the pc from as he is 80 miles away.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

you should check if the pc has a dvd player installed in it. if not it will only play vcd's. also check if the dvd hasnt got any scratches or marks on the back

Try another media player like VLC and see if that works.
