No. I think, deep down, they all know it's a lie. That's why they get so upset when questioned. LMAO, and the thumbs down prove my point.

gumtrunk, surely you mean nativity, lol

Well I think in most cases no... but if you are a religious extremist or teach others to not accept anyone or anythig else, than yes. I guess the stereotype is that people who are very religious lead shelterd lives and I'm sure this is not the case.
I really think naivety depends on your age and your social upbringing inside your family and community... religion can be one of those factors but it is not all-inclusive.
The youth pastor of the Methodist church near my house is an ex-gang member and he is far from naive. He just wanted to turn his life around.

A religion is a belief and like any belief it breeds naivety. We all need something to believe in so we are all naive.

Yup! And it could be put the other way round. With all due respect what is the religion for? It forbids, calls natural actions sins, commands and unless you do as you're told you'll be punished....I obey my parents, love my loved ones and do not kill, steal, hate or cheat...What more do I need??!!! God maybe exitst, but if so, he is inside us and hasn't wrote The Bible or the book of Koran....etc.

No. But being out of the ark of safety does. Makes your
life more prone to evil, if you are an unbeliever. So get
saved man. And be done with the atheistic rhetoric....

If you want to believe that then you will also have to believe that this exists in all belief cultures. Republican will call Democrats naive and vice versa. A belief system does tend to engender a closed-mind approach and hence naivete.

Believing is God has nothing to do with being naive. I could say the same for an atheist. "He must be naive because he does NOT believe in God. Don't make generalizations, there is no proof for either side.

No, it does not. I believe the problem is with those individuals who choose to follow religious teachings blindly. We must remember that religious texts (like the Bible, for example) were written by man and man is fallible. Man must also remember that he cannot know God's will and does not speak for God. Too many men seem to forget this!

"An unexamined life is not worth living."

For people who do what their religion dictates without question, absolutely. For those who have examined their lives and their beliefs and still have faith, no way.

I wouldn't say so.

I've known a few naive people in my life, and some of them have been atheists.
