I just got engaged this weekend, I'm sooo excited, and my fiance and I were talking about who we wanted to include in the wedding. He has 2 best friends from different times in his life who he is very close with, and I have 1 sister, who I always said would be my maid of honor, and 1 very close best friend who is like a sister to me. So, we were thinking about having them share the roles and we have 2 best men and 2 maids of honor.
I know it's our wedding and we can do anything we want, but I just wondered if anyone else has done this before or had a similar situation with close people in your life. How did you handle it?
Serious answers only please. Thanks

You answered it yourself - it's your wedding - your dream day, so you can do anything you want. It sounds like you have great reasons to have 2 of each, so go with it!
If you are just starting to plan a wedding, I have a great Wedding planning guide on Cafeyak.com - in the Style section.
Congrats!

I'm doing that for my wedding. My mom is my matron of honor and my best friend from college is maid of honor. Then my fiance's brother and best friend are his best men.
I left it up to my mom and friend to decide who does what as far as MOH duties go. It actually works out well to have 2 because all the expenses of showers, bach parties, etc are shared. And you're not draining only one person with all your bride concerns, dress fittings, planning, etc. And on your special day, you'll have one more person to help you!
At the ceremony, we're having the best men come out with my fiance and standing next to him while the other three bridesmaids and groomsmen and flower girls are going up the aisle, then the MOHs are both walking alone.
Hope that helps!

Congratulations!!
I am having two maids of honor and my fiance is actually only having 1 best man. There are a few different ways to handle it- you can have 1 less groomsman and have the 1 best man escort both maids of honor... OR you can have an even bridal party but only have one walk with the best man. Personally, I have having my best friend be escorted by the best man and my sister escorted by my another groomsman. I hope this helps!

I was in a wedding this past september and there were 3 maids of honor two best men and that was it no ushers or brides maids neither could choose so thats what they did and all three of us had a "job" in the wedding and so did the guys so it really was equal and we really were all three maids of honor cause normally the one would do what the three of us did so yes it can be done and its really sweet i loved it.

I got married this past September and I had a matron of honor, a maid of honor, and he had 2 best men. It is your wedding and you can do whatever you want.......that's the great thing about it being YOUR wedding. All 4 of them gave small toasts at the reception....it was perfect.

I think it is great idea, but there might be an issue depending on the location of your wedding...
I know some churches have the bride, groom, maid of honor, and best man sit or kneel near the altar at the front of the church and the rest of the church sits in the pews. I know at my sister's wedding, the [Catholic] church only had four kneelers, so there wouldn't have been the option of more than one MOH or best man because they wouldn't have had anywhere to kneel.
My advice: talk it over with the venue.

Well, my situation is kind of the opposite, but it is out-of-the-ordinary so maybe it will help. My fiance has two daughters and I am having my brother and my best friend. We are not having any MOH or Best man, just two people apeice. I think that they will be happy to have someone to share the responsibilities with. As long as they get along and work together without jealousy, it should work out great.

I am doing this too! My fiance's brother has Downs Syndrome so he's a best man and his best friend is his other best man. My sisters are twins, so they are both my Maids of honor. I don't forsee any issues with it. I am really happy to have so many people that are so close to us! :)

You can definately do this. I've seen this done several times. I've even seen 3 Maids/Matrons of Honor and 3 Bestmen! They can definately share the roles.
