If someone accepts Jesus in their life, keeps a close relationship with him and God, gets baptized, does good works, and witnesses to others but goes to a Baptist church, are they a saved Christian?

If someone can be saved outside of the Jehovah's Witnesses' religion (or denomination), then your religion isn't the only true one is it? And if you say no one can, then you're saying you must be a Jehovah's Witness in order to be saved.

If you want explicit, clear-cut answers from JWs, you have to ask explicit, clear-cut questions. (Even so, no guarantee of straight answers, but at least it leaves them without excuse.)

Had you asked, "Do you believe you are the only ones who should survive Armageddon" you would have pinned them down to a much more difficult issue. As it is, they've jumped on the more ambiguous 'be saved' phrase which enables them to say 'No.' They believe it's possible for huge numbers of non-JWs to be saved if they respond in time to the JW gospel. Further, they believe salvation cannot be attained until the end of the Millennium (which is 1,000 years after Armageddon) and billions will be resurrected from the dead during that period to get a second chance at being saved. Those billions will not be JWs until they are educated and decide to join. But they all have a second chance to be saved.

That is why none of them (so far) have gone on to give a straight 'Yes' or 'No' to your second Q.

And for those unfamiliar with Christianity, it is only pseudo-Christian denominations that have the audacity to infer that you must belong to their group to be saved. Bona fide Christians eagerly agree that denomination has nothing to do with being saved. Salvation is God's free gift given to everyone who puts faith in Christ alone to save them from their sin.

This is a difficult one. It is a bit like asking how do I save my alcohol/drug addicted loved one. The person you want to help has to first of all see for themselves that they need saving. If you try to save a drowning man who doesn't believe he is drowning you are likely to be drowned yourself. When I was a JW my non JW husband showed me love and patience. He never critizised me or my beliefs, nor any of my fellow JW's. He did, however, ask me to prove certain points such as the validity of the Bible and the denying of the cross. He, being a balanced and logical individual wanted evidence not just from JW literature but from other sources. So convinced was I that I had the 'truth' and so eager was I to make him see it that I researched all his points fully. I found that I could not satisfy his questions just from JW literature and started to look elsewhere. The rest, as they say is history. I discovered the lies put forward by the organisation as the 'truth' and left. For those who have said their is no harm in your loved one being a JW because they basic tenants are the same, I have to say they are wrong. For the sacrifice of Jesus to mean anything he had to be a perfect being, man is not perfect but neither are the angels. If angels were made perfect then the whole sorry mess would never have happened because Lucifer would not have turned against God. Angels are as capable of sin as humans are. The ONLY creature who is perfect and could redress the balance is God himself. By claiming Jesus was and is an angel they are denying the true meaning of his sacrifice. JW's also disbelieve that the Holy Spirit is a being, to them it is just a 'force', despite much Bible evidence to the contrary. What does the Bible say is the only sin not able to be forgiven? Is is not blaspheming the Holy Spirit? Is denegrating such a wonderful and powerful being into little more than electricity not blaspheming it? Be patient and loving, ask them kindly tp prove from other sources what the organisation teaches, they cannot. And don't just accept the literature from outside sources that is approved of by the organisation ask for more. Explain that you want to see the evidence from all sides before you make a decision about the 'truth'. Most of all pray and keep on praying.

When God extended his loving kindness to Paul, does Paul have the truth before becoming a Christian? Or was Paul saved only because of God’s mercy and kindness? God was able to read Paul’s heart so he was given a chance. It doesn’t mean that Paul has the truth before he became a Christian.

So it is the same for those who are non-JWs. They can be saved if God gives them a chance. Remember both the righteous and the unrighteous are resurrected.

Is it easy for a non-true Christian to be saved?

1 Pet 4:18 states ““And if the righteous [man] is being saved with difficulty, where will the ungodly [man] and the sinner make a showing?”

Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.” Mat 7:21

So one needs to do the WILL OF THE FATHER to enter in the kingdom of the heavens.

Sasi gets my vote. The bottom line is that Jehovah's Witnesses believe only faithful, obedient JW's will survive Armageddon (which is still just round the corner, 100 years after they first predicted it). The rest of us, Baptist especially, will not be saved. Oh, dear.

Sadly, what all those faithful, obedient JW's haven't realised is that this wonderful gift of salvation does not apply to 99.9% of them. Only the elite 144,000 anointed class qualify for salvation, because only they are fully anointed with the Holy Spirit and have a heavenly hope. All the rest have to earn their salvation by being obedient to a man-made organisation. And, even after Armageddon, they cannot be assured of salvation! No - they still have to work at it because they are excluded from the new covenant - the shed blood of Christ does not cover them. Such a travesty of the gospel.

I am sitting here looking at a leaflet JW's distributed world wide this time last year. 'The End of False Religion Is Near!" It tells the reader what false religion is, how it will end and how you will be affected. It says that false religion (every religion other than theirs) is Babylon the Great, the Harlot of Revelation, who will be destroyed. Aparently, the only religion to meet the standards they hold up as true religion, is themselves. Surprise, surprise!

So, to answer your question, merely accepting Jesus, being baptised, having a close relationship with him and God, doing good works and witnessing to others will be to no avail. You have to be baptised as a Jehovah's Witness. Won't get you to heaven, though. Anyway, at least the Baptists believe in full immersion, something they have in common with JW's. Where they differ, though, is that Baptists don't declare that they, and only they, have the truth and they are the only people who will be saved. Oh, and Baptists don't think only 144,000 will go to heaven. But, apart from that, at least Baptists know how to sing God's praises - Amazing Grace sums it all up.

Everyone is complaining about the woman who died instead of getting a blood transplant. Well if you knew the religion it states that if you are a JW you can't get blood transplants or organ transplants. You must choose to die. So she did the right thing! I am a JW so don't argue with me. God will only choose so many people to have everlasting life and the process of creating the new kingdom is in the process.

I am a believer and I have more chances of being saved than 80% so-called Christians. 80% of these Christians are in truth Pagans. Pagans cannot be saved for they have nothing to do with God Almighty, although they think they do. They are "happy, sinful, and delusioned on what is the meaning of being saved". Many Christians think forgiveness of sins come so very easily. Easily enough to repent today and fall again tomorrow. So sad. That's the reason why the world is what it is today.

Your religion or your sect has NOTHING to do with your salvation. Your salvation depends on you following the written word of the Bible. The Bible is clear consise and accurate on what Must be done to gain eternal life with our Lord and Saviour. Forget what man tells you about their interpitation of the word of God. Read the Bible and follow the instructions therein. GOD KNOWS everything: MAN THINKS he knows everything...and that is what gets people confused or misled.
PS Look at the amount of responses to your post GREAT, but I would say again look to GOD'S word, (not man's thinking), get a good concordence with your Bible and PRAY for wisdom and I am sure the Lord will be faithful and direct you.

"gods-cho", you said it all when you quoted the Scripture from Eph. 4:5 which says,

"One Lord, one faith, one baptism. If you would read that again , read it slow. If this is saying one how can all religions be right?
when you have time please read the 7th chapter of Matt. I will list a few things from there.

Matt.713-14 "Go into the narrow gate ; because broad an spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going n through it; where as narrow and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.

Matt. 7:15 "Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to you in sheep's covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves.

Matt 7:21 "Not everyone saying to me, Lord, Lord will enter into the the kingdom of the heavens but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me me in that day, Lord ,Lord, did we not prophesy i your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you ! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.

also to "love exists" and the other person that spoke of the women that had the twins and passed away. This coming July will be the 5th year that I have been without my sister also a faithful servant of Jehovah, she also left behind a beatiful dauther. My sister decison not to take blood showed her true love and faith in Jehovah and his promise. ( Rev 21:3,4) "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. and God himself will be with them. and he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. the former things have passed away.

John 11:25 Jesus said: "I am the resurrection and the life, He that exercise faith in me , even though he dies, will come to life.

also read John 5:28,29 Acts 24:15 Matt. 10:28; Rev 20:13,14

Cristians are commanded to 'abstain from blood'
Acts15:29 "Keep absating from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled (killed without draing their blood)

We are so proud of our sister, daughter, wife mother that she obeyed Jehovahs command, we have been strenghten in our faith. we along with her beautiful daughter look forwad to welcoming her back in the ressurection, We are proud to be helpers with her husband in teaching her daughter Bible truth. Although not here with us in the flesh she is in our hearts, and we all hope to once again be together in paradise.

CAN YOU SEE, WITH YOUR MINDS EYE, PEOPLES DWELLING TOGETHER? SORROW HAS PASSED. PEACE AT LAST! LIFE WITHOUT TEARS AND PAIN . SNG OUT WITH JOY OF HEART. YOU, TOO, CAN HAVE A PART LIVE FOR THE DAY WHEN YOU'LL SAY: "LIFE WITHOUT END, AT LAST!"

Do Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that their religion is the only right one?

The Bible does not agree with the modern view that there are many acceptable ways to worship God. Ephesians 4:5 says there is “one Lord, one faith.” Jesus stated: “Narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it. . . . Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.”—Matt. 7:13, 14, 21; see also 1 Corinthians 1:10.

Repeatedly the Scriptures refer to the body of true Christian teachings as “the truth,” and Christianity is spoken of as “the way of the truth.” (1 Tim. 3:15; 2 John 1; 2 Pet. 2:2) Because Jehovah’s Witnesses base all of their beliefs, their standards for conduct, and organizational procedures on the Bible, their faith in the Bible itself as God’s Word gives them the conviction that what they have is indeed the truth. So their position is not egotistical but demonstrates their confidence that the Bible is the right standard against which to measure one’s religion. They are not self-centered but are eager to share their beliefs with others.

Do not other religions also follow the Bible?

Many use it to some extent. But do they really teach and practice what it contains? Consider: (1) From most of their Bible translations they have removed the name of the true God thousands of times. (2) The Trinity doctrine, their concept of God himself, is borrowed from pagan sources and was developed in its present form centuries after Bible writing was completed. (3) Their belief in immortality of the human soul as the basis for continued life is not taken from the Bible; it has roots in ancient Babylon. (4) The theme of Jesus’ preaching was the Kingdom of God, and he sent his disciples out to talk personally to others about it; but the churches today seldom mention that Kingdom and their members are not doing the work of preaching “this good news of the kingdom.” (Matt. 24:14) (5) Jesus said that his true followers could be readily identified by their self-sacrificing love for one another. Is that true of the religions of Christendom when the nations go to war? (6) The Bible says that Christ’s disciples would be no part of the world, and it warns that whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God; but the churches of Christendom and their members are deeply involved in the political affairs of the nations. (Jas. 4:4) In view of such a record, can it honestly be said that they really adhere to the Bible?

I am not a JW but I want to say to both JWs and non-JW's alike that salvation is in Christ alone, not in an human organization, even one which claims it is of God.

Churches don't save people. God does.
