I wound up getting a Sonata, but I really wanted the Azera. Is there a difference? They make it out like the Azera is more refinded/luxury type than Sonata. Is it a smoother ride? Are you satisfied with your Azera?

I bought a new 2006 Azera Limited with Ultimate Package in January 2007 and now have 11,000 miles on it. I love the car, its very roomy and comfortable with plenty of power and features. It was a great value (I paid $25300, $7K below the invoice...good thing considering how much they depreciate the 1st 2-3 years) with more safety features then most cars at this price point. The Azera has some beautiful luxury features inside and out that make it a standout car regardless of price.

As for the Sonata, I'm sure if you had a fully loaded model there would be very little difference, of course the price would then only be a couple thousand difference too. I've never met an unsatisfied Sonata owner, but didn't test drive it myself. I have 2 kids in car seats and after owning a 2000 Maxima like a roomy car, so I went for the best Hyundai had. I hope you don't feel like you settled for the Sonata, if you do its going to be a long 5 years waiting to pay it off.

Well, I own neither, but I have driven both. Frankly, I thought that the Sonata was, for the money, the better buy. I found the Azera a little over-priced for what it was. Too many finishing details, including interior door handles and the gas door finished in plastic instead of metal to really be considered a "luxury" car. Also, it was my impression that the Sonata cornered a little better. The Azera has a noticable nose-heaviness and tends to wallow in turns and nose-dive in hard braking.

Don't get me wrong. I generally liked the car, but given its premium price, I did not feel it quite met my expectations.

I have, or maybe I should say my wife has the Azera Limited. Must say it is the best car we have ever had and I have had Cadillac, Chevy, Toyota, Ford, among other brands.
The Azera is more refined/lustrous than the Sonata. We looked at several cars (other brands) before buying this one.

NOT TO SOUND DISRESPECTFUL BUT HYUNDAI VEHICLES ARE NOT VERY RELIABLE PLUS THEY COST AN ARM AND A LEG TO REPAIR.
