Not all women are guilty of this, but 90% of the ones I've met are...if you don't want to hurt their feelings, but don't want to hurt yours either, how do you choose to deal with it?

Start talking about sex...if they're attracted to you, the conversation will evolve to your benefit; if they aren't interested in you that way, they'll call attention to the fact that you always seem to revert to sex and If you're talking to
old ladies, they'lll think you're out of your mind and hurry to get the hell away from you! Bottom line is: either way, they'll stop the talking!

I am not allowed to touch anything flammable for that very reason. Although just the other day I had a nice vanilla candle burning in order to try and mask the horrendous odours that come from my kitchen and when I tried to blow it out (it was in a cup) I blew molten wax all over my face. That was a long story and I apologise. I am a little old today, did I ever tell you about the time....

I am a woman and i totally agree. I really think that some woman talk to hear there own voice. But it isn't just woman who do that. There is a guy who comes into my work once a week and will just talk my ear off for about an hour but then one of my co-workers will "save me". But I also know that he is trying to get a date with me even though he knows that i am in a relationship. So both sexes are at fault and nobody is perfect.
Thanks

In a work situation, I have asked my friends to come get me and say that they need my help so I can walk away from a nice old lady who talks a lot.
Women have interrupted me and told me to get to work and stop talking.
Men often try not to hurt feelings of women,Women I met will tell me to be stop talking and get to work very bluntly. I guess I resent the fact that they speak their mind right away when I am afraid to do so becausue I don't want to appear rude.
This insatiable need to talk all the time that many women have is a deadly danger when they have cell phones. They may be just 4 minutes from home but yet they have to drive a 2 ton SUV while dialing a cell phone or holding one to their heads and paying little attention to the cars around them, changing lanes with out looking.
Beats me as to why women gotta talk talk talk talk ALL THE TIME!!! They repeat themselves which makes the conversation even longer. They tell you (the man) about stuff that you don't care about or that is totally unnessary so as to just keep talking. My wife often does not hear what I am saying but wants me to listen to her non-stop. I just keep my mouth shut and be polite and listen and hope she finishes soon. I see young women and old ones who can not put their cell phones down. I wonder how civilization was able to survive with out cell phones for thousands of years.

Excuse yourself whenever they engage in incessant chatter. Or just go for a walk. They'll get the hint.

Gotta learn to block it out or multitask your listening. I can watch tv and hear my wife talking at the same time and the only time I respond is when she stops talking for a moment.

I hate this too. I'm the quiet one of all my female friends. The only time I start talking incessantly is when I'm exhausted. I don't even realize I'm doing it. I've told friends and family to just tell me to shut up when I do. LOL

it depends what culture you have :)

where i'm from i can tell my friends that they are "diggers" which means that they talk too much. it's like saying "get to the point".

but in some countries it will be offensive. sooo in that case i suggest you stare off at the side a lot or say "ya...aha" but in a boring/tired tone and she'll get it.

I listen to the important stuff(we'll be really generous and say about 40%) and tune out the remaining 60(+)% while pretending to listen to it.

I don't do it often but occasionally I'll get awfully chatty. My boyfriend cuts it off pretty quickly by kissing me... which when i'm yapping sends a pretty clear message but how can I not love him more when his version of telling me to shut it is to kiss me?

Course ... doesn't work so well with the chickies you aren't dating...
