It's my crazy ex-friend update. So this is her shower story...
Make a long story short for everyone who hasn't been following this... Got married 1 in Vegas- having giant church wedding in white gown 6 months later (redo) . Demanding shower, demanding bacholourette party... Demanding lavish gifts and lots of attention. I kicked her out of my wedding because she was trying to ruin it and make herself center of attention. I am getting this information from a mutual friend who is still in her wedding.
She wanted to invite every female on the planet to her shower so it was like 60 people so they decided to throw two showers- and this is shower 1. The other shower is this following week.
1. They didn't make people RSVP - 10 showed.
2. NO Food- only cheese and crackers and a vegetable tray.
3. 10 people so they couldn’t play bingo or any games because it didn’t work.
4. Took 10 mins to open the gifts. (Most people bought her small things since she is already married)

5. No food or drink other then soda and snacks.
6. People left in 15-20 min due to boredom or being hungry. 2 people booked out right after she got done the gifts.
7. Longest people stayed were 1 hour.
8. Bride seemed very unhappy/disappointed and was pretending to be happy but everyone could see through it.
9. No one really had anything to say to each other- 1 bridesmaid, the rest were family and a few co-workers.
10. Bride’s Husband came in and made a sarcastic comment about “People are really having fun in here.”
Anyone EVER been to a shower like this?

2nd shower- we are guessing 9 people will actually come because she thinks 20 plus people are going to buy plane tickets and fly out a week before Christmas to attend! Everyone she invited is "old" friends who she hasn't seen for years (like 10 years!).
3 of the 9 people are family who went to the first one.

Sounds like a self-centered and selfish Bride that I worked with about five years ago.
She spent over eight (8) hours "registering" for bridal shower and wedding gifts at a local department store. Every item on her bridal registry cost $100 or more.
The china pattern that she selected was so expensive (a special order item) that she did not even receive the salt and pepper shaker.
Even though she knew when and where her first bridal shower was being held, she was over one hour late.
She was so disappointed in the amount and type of gifts that she received at her first bridal shower that she talked her Mother into giving her a second shower (which also proved to be disappointing to the Bride).
She did not buy any "Thank You" gifts for her Maid of Honor or bridesmaids because they all earned more money than she did.
Surprise! Surprise! The marriage only lasted about one year.

Bachelorette parties and showers for a married woman? She ain't fooling no one with her presumtuosness. She got what she deserved. I'll be curious to see how shower #2 will turn out. I hope that she has enough common sense to cancel it out of plain embarrasment.
Awww, so she didn't like her $5 Dollar General gift??? Too bad, because she sure deserved it.
Payback is a beyootch! Hhah I love your crazy ex-friend stories. Keep us posted!
Good luck
PS/ I've been to many baby showers, I have not attended any bridal showers recently.. .but check this, may be this one beats it! An ex-bff of mine (long story) had her third child. She owned a baby store and still had the nerve to thow a baby shower for herself in the baby store she owned! (!?!!) what in the hell are you supposed buy if she sells baby items and already have everything and more??? She got a few modest gifts, they were only 6 women in attendance (to include mom and bussiness partner). She was mad and dissapointed, she opened the gifts with so much dislik, but come one! . but people could see through her greediness and the innapropriatness of the event... third child and owning a baby store... and then she has some nerve to ask for more? Also, she hosted HER birthday party a couple of days afterwards (she's 32).... so 2 gifts in 3 days. She has very few friends left.

That sounds pretty bad.... I hate it when people have 2 showers (unless the families are on two different sides of the country or something like that). I got married at Christmas and decided to forgo the shower because I knew everyone was really busy with their holiday plans and it was nice enough for people to take time out of their holidays to come to my wedding. I don't think a shower is an entitlement, it should be for friends to help you set up household. People shouldn't feel obligated to give two gifts......

I heard first-hand of a bridal shower, this was in 1971, my friend the maid of honor gave for her friend the bride. The only people who showed up were the bride, and the groom's mom. No lie. From what I remember, the bride wasn't a nice person.
If I was invited to your crazy ex-friend's shindigs, I wouldn't go. Doing this stuff for someone who is already married is beyond the pale.

Hi Bubbles:
Good thing you kicked her out of your wedding....and I can see why you now refer to her as an "ex-friend."
I am sitting here at work...shhh...don't tell...taking a little lunch break and this, I must say, was my humor for the day.
It's totally funny! Let us know what happens at the second shower! I would imagine much of the same. I can certainly see why people are NOT wanting to attend. Ummmm....sorry to say...she has missed the boat on the bachelorette party...but that should be a hoot too!! lol

That sounds pretty bad. I did go to a bridal shower where they had one of those sex toy selling presentations and the bride was 5 months pregnant. It was very uncomfortable.

She's trying to make her life be something it just isn't, and people really don't have the time to indulge that (never mind lacking the desire to indusge that nonsense).
