It is fairly recent. His stools are still firm and "normal" otherwise, but they are a pale tan color, what could this be? a parasite?

If you didn't feed him any new foods that could change the colour. If his food is the same and the colour changed for no reason, talk to your vet, it may be a sign of illness, bring a sample for the vet to check. This happened to one of our cats a few years ago and he was sick, so if it continues see a vet.

Different food different ingredients as long as her stool doesn't look too dry or too runny it is fine. Tan is a good color.

maybe it's because of the food your cat ate..just bring him/her to vet for further study on your cat..

Are you giving him milk ? If so stop . mainly what goes in comes out.
