Is there a way to dual-boot xp and feisty fawn so windows is the primary os, and ubuntu only starts up when I want it to, maybe by holding down a button during startup like the CMOS? I want to try out Ubunutu without VirualBox, but hate having to choose the OS during startup.

Any help?

Thanks

You need to format the hard drive with a seperate section for the alternet system . If you don't have the origanal XP cd it may be best to set up a second hard drive

I had an easy way to do this (realy cheating ) I had 2 hard drives and removable bays is how I did it. But it was very easy just slide in the OS you want and boot.
I know its not the answer you are looking for but hope it helps. Maybe the linux forums could be more helpfull.
