The old analog ones will work just fine except for some small ones that don't have a way to connect an external antenna or A/V input.

The reason is that the new digital TV signals can be cheaply converted into the old analog signals.

For over the air TV you will need a converter box after 2/17/09. This connects between the antenna and the TV and will tune in all the over the air digital TV channels. After Jan 2008 there will be a coupon program that will let each household buy a couple of them for about $20 each. If you currently get good UHF (channels 14-69) reception, you should be able to use your current antenna.

Cable & satellite customers will also be able to get analog TV signals.

This whole transition to digital TV was designed to be backwards compatable from the consumer's standpoint.

What is happening is that if you use an antenna or rabbit ears after Feb 2009 it will no longer work. If you already have cable you will need a cable box from the cable company. Your TV is not the problem, unless it is so old you have to turn the dial to change the channels. (It still might work)
