I heard that a group of military men asked Starbucks to send them some samples or something of their coffee, but that Starbucks refused because they do not support the troops. Is this true? I can't imagine a company refusing service like that just because of a difference of opinions... do they not realize that any service member can walk into their store and buy it, so in a way they are still supporting the troops?

Thanks for the clarification, I didn't get this in an email it's actually my mother-in-law who told me and forbid me to go to Starbucks as my husband is currently in Iraq... It seems though that she cares more about who supports the troops than my own marine does, as he's just like "if it tastes good, buy it, who cares!" Hypothetically, though, if it was you, would you boycot a company who's overall beliefs were different from yours? I think it's a form of discrimination which I do not participate in at all... why be childish and fight back like that?

A rumour that has been debunked a million times, surprised it is still out there. But again even if true would it matter. I mean why should a company give out free samples of anything just because a troop asks for it. I mean I am a troop if I ask rolex to send me a watch should they have to in order to support the troops? Come to think of it what if I told Ferrari they should send me one of their cars when I get home in order to support the troops.
In short it would be foolish for a company to just give crap away when they are worried about a profit, be it for the troops or anyone.

Just to set the record straight. I have a friend who is an assistant manager at a Starbuck's, and they do have a program for supporting the troops. She is in charge of the program at her store, and she shipped a bunch of coffee and supplies out to us the other week.

i'm residing evidence that Starbucks helps our troops. Starbucks employed me understanding that my Fiance replaced into in Iraq and can be coming domicile in in basic terms some months and that i might ought to circulate away the state. I circulate away in 2 days, I gave them observe and that they thoroughly understood and that i wasn't given any rude responses in besides. Starbucks helps our troops via hiring their better halves, girlfriends and fiances, and Starbucks helps me. Dont have faith each little thing you pay attention. Addition: the undeniable fact that they refused to deliver coffee to them is crap. As maximum folk comprehend Starbucks owns Seattles maximum suitable, My fiance's troop replaced into given kilos and kilos of Seattles maximum suitable coffee, i think of they only purely presently ran out. playstation I stay in Seattle "the liberal city" that guy or woman stated. Washington isn't against our troops. we've a substantial military citadel right here. ft. Lewis, seem it up. Gosh human beings, do a splash diagnosis earlier you anticipate

Though it is a hoax it is entirely possible they would turn down such a request. Nothing to do with supporting or not supporting the troops and more to do with if they approve it and do it then they would have "liability" issues if they said no to some one else. Many businesses have gotten out of doing things like that or even allowing charities to solicit on there property for that reason.

It's a hoax.
During my last tour in Afghanistan, I had the pleasure of waking up every morning to a cup of Starbucks coffee.

Although it is an e-mail hoax, Starbucks never received such a request, they say they would have turned down such a request.

EDIT FOR YOUR ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Boycotting a corporation for their political agenda is not only legitimate, I suggest it is required. Corporations have as much or more impact upon our lives as does our government and the only vote that we have in that matter is the dollar. Use it wisely.

on my first deployment to the "Ghan" (Afghanistan). we were bored to death since there was nothing really to do during the downtime. so we starte to writer letters to people/businesses of sports euipment. for the most part since the war was viewed differently then, companies welcomed sending us stuff as long as we took pictures of ourselves using the equipment and sent them back to the company. we agreed and got all sorts of stuff. well we sent an actual order into starbucks coffee to BUY coffee. and were told in a form letter that since starbucks didnt support the current foreign policy that it would not ship it product to the area. we called them back. and were told point blank that starbucks will never support the troops as long as the current situation exists and therefore we wouldnt recieve anything free or bought.
neither myself or anyone in my family is a patron of starbucks. im sure this wont effect their overall sales but "frankly scarlet, i dont give a Damn!"

Tiffany Baby, its a very old Urban Myth that has been debunked a million times on here.
Originally believed to have been started by their competition to damage their sales.
