CAN THEY?? :o

We've got this project. And I was just wondering if shells could possibly be used to test homemade toothpaste instead of actually using it on our teeth. :]

THE COMPOSITION OF SHELLS FROM SHELLFISH IS DIFFERENT THAN THAT OF TOOTH ENAMEL, SO THIS WOULD NOT BE AN ACCURATE COMPARISON.
ACTUAL EXTRACTED TEETH HAVE BEEN USED FOR THE STUDIES WITH DENTAL PRODUCTS.

Well shells don't have protective enamel like teeth do, so they will probably absorb stains more than teeth will.
