In canada where i live it doesn't cost a cent to take your child to the doctor. All you need is a health card which is free and everyone here has one.A cat costs alot of money to get care for and i don't have the money so shut your trap

It is really hard to say what is wrong without taking him to the vet. But I do understand that money is an issue. How old is the cat? What type of diet is it on? It could be something as simple as diet or parasites.

If you are pregnant it's not recommended to have a cat unless it's been a pet for a while. You have to worry about toxoplasmosis being pregnant and this can be dangerous to your fetus. Again I understand your concern about finances, I have a 5 month old baby. Your best bet may be to surrender the cat to a shelter. It may be possible for you to take a fecal sample to vet and have them check it out without seeing the cat. It depends on how well you know your vet and if they'll let you do it. BUT most likely they will want to see the cat.

If the cat has parasites be careful in cleaning up behind it and make sure that your child doesn't handle the cat too much. Or make sure they wash their hands if your child does.

Don't feel bad if it ends up with you taking the cat to a shelter. Having kids and a pet are not cheap. Veterinarians have become expensive, I know I work for one. In the town that I work in there is a vet that is cheap and does a lot of work for the local shelter. Maybe just call around and compare prices for any vets in your area. Check the price for an office visit and fecal test (checking for parasites) and just go from there.

That's crazy!!! It shouldn't cost that much to take the cat to a vet!

I think it would probably be the best thing for the cat for you to surrender it to a shelter. How long that might take depends on where you live, contact your local shelter asap.

The cat needs medical help now. If you cannot afford to bring an animal to a vet in a situation like this then it really is best for any animal and for yourself not to get the animal in the first place. The animal will suffer and you will become stressed and annoyed, in this case because you have cat poo everywhere.

This is one of the reasons why getting an animal shoud never be done on an impulse, it should be researched and thought about and a plan for different situations decided on before the animal arrives.

Oh and being 28 weeks pregnant it is actually very dangerous for you to handling cat poo, if you tell the shelter this they will probably take the cat straight away and that way it will get vetinary attention now while soemthing can be done for it.

This sounds like it is an abscess, and it has burst. Abscesses cause infections, so this could be the reason your cat is being 'lazy'. It's a bit like us with a cold or flu we don't want to do anything except lie in bed. When an abscess bursts most of the pus comes out and it can look pretty horrible and can bleed a lot and a cat will automatically start cleaning the area. If it remains very red, bleeding and they pusing won't stop take him to a vet asap. In the meantime the best thing you can do is bathe the area at least 3 times a day with warm salty water using a cotton swab. It might be advisable to have a look to see if there is a foreign object in the wound as this is one of the reasons why abscesses start. Hope he will be OK. Just keep bathing it.

i'd take the cat to a shelter as soon as you can. firstly, you're not in a position to take care of it what with being pregnant and all, and aside from the diseases in their faeces, cats have been known to sleep on babies faces and suffocate them owing to the warmth/smell of milk. I understand that taking it to vet's is not in ur budget, and given that it was ur boyfriends idea to get the cat in the first place maybe he should be taking responsibility for it. Animals are a huge responsibility, almost as much as children and if you can't put the time, effort and money in, and take care of it when it's ill cuz it 'grosses' you out, then the best option for both the cat and urself is to surrender it. Let's be honest now....you may be feeding it and putting a roof over its head but if you cant take care of it when its ill then its still a form of cruelty and you would both be happier if it founda new home.

well we cant tell you what is wrong with the cat we can only guess the only person who can tell you is a vet and seeing as you do not have the money to take it to the vet...i suggest contacting your local ASPCA, and seeing if they can find a home for it. then it can go to someone who:
1. wants it
2. can take care of it, and
3. is in a condition to take care of a sick pet

hopes the cat gets a good home, good luck with the new baby

okay i decided to look back on your history...3 weeks ago you asked about the cat having this issue...you was told them what was going on...since that time you keep asking what is going on...duh...i understand that you are pregnant ...a lot of people are....and i understand if you feel that you can not take care of this care...so get rid of it...you are being cruel keeping it when you know it is sick and you are making it suffer...heck you grip at heartburn (norm preg symptom) but you expect the cat to deal with this...wtf....give it to the shelter...even that is better than anything...and i would suggest never getting an animal....ever...because like people animals to get sick and have to go to the doctor...

Instead of surrendering him why do you just provide proper care for him? Start by taking him to the vet and seeking a proper diagnosis. Not for nothing but if you were going to throw him away at the first sign of trouble why did you adopt him in the first place? Nothing says you have to own a pet, but if you choose to own one you have some obligations!

Yes, you are the same one saying cats are stupid morons. Your cat would not be doing that if he were not sick. You are cruel. The cat has worms and can't help having diarhea. Cats are actually not stupid at all. They are very smart, they just know when somebody like you doesn't like them. If you, or your boyfriend or whoever can't afford a cat, don't get one. You are being cruel to the cat. You probably yell at her/him if she has an accident when her stomach is hurting from so many worms. People who treat animals terribly really upset me.

He probably has worms. I suppose he hasn't been dewormed. So, the best and cheapest option you have is:
1. feed him boiled chicken breast or "intestinal" formula food or Hill's i/d for a week or so.
2. Buy a Drontal pill or Milbemax pill from the pet store and give it to him. Repeat in 14 days.
3. If none of these work, give him Flagyl (metronidazole) syrup for a week, dosage for babies, based on his weight.

Just take it to the shelter, you have a lot going on right now.

Interesting...in another question you call cats morons.
Save the cat your abuse and take it to the shelter.

You also asked what is wrong with you cat 3 weeks ago and every one told you worms. So why ask again!!!!!!!!
