I have a very high vaulted ceiling. The ceiling is like that in the living room and kitchen...which is basically one big room. In the kitchen there is a ceiling fan. With it being winter in here Nebraska I want to keep as much heat in the house as possible! I know heat rises, so should I have my ceiling fan going clockwise or counter clock wise? Or should I leave it off?? Please help!

In the summer it should go counter clockwise, in the winter it should turn clockwise, but we never turn our fans on to circulate the heat.
