Anything that makes people a little kinder and spreads some joy is a good thing. I don't think anybody has to celebrate "my" holiday just because I do.
To everbody:
Blessed Christmas
Happy Hanukah
Happy Yule
have a great festivus
Hope your day is going well!

If only this were true in the mass. I tend to notice more family disagreements, fights, more activity on the police band radio, more unwanted animals being dumped at shelters, more ruthlessly materialistic children rearing their heads and ramming me with their shopping carts...stuff like that. If only Christmas weren't so blinged *commercialized,* it might be a time of fellowship and good feeling. But everyone around me is depressed and harried. I think it has been blown out of proportion and made into a monster. I'd be happy if it were simple and an occasion for fellowship. Then again, I prefer small gatherings with friends, rather than enforced ones with family--I'm more a Frodo Baggins than a Bilbo Baggins in terms of the types of parties I go in for...

Precisely! Holidays are about family and friends regardless which one it is, well, for most of them at least. I think Christmas is especially nice as people make an effort to be nice to each other, an admirable trait to use all year around.

Indeed. Christmas is no longer about Jesus in the average household (speaking for england and anywhere above texas in America)
It has gone back to its original roots, Yule
