You can contact your agent and provide them w/ a copy of the police report and they should be able to file the claim for you.
However, I would suggest calling the other company yourself. They will ask some questions that you would be able to answer better than your agent bc you were the person involved.
That way too, they can answer any questions you have and explain their policies and procedures to you.
Best of luck

Amasing how one can get into an accident and not be part of it at the same time. The question you have asked is very simple. You the owner of the damaged car without collision insurance will need to go after the other drivers insurance co. Not you insurance coverage. If you indeed had collision insurance your company would indeed go after the other insurance co. for you. That is part of the collision coverage. Best of luck. Just contact the at fault party`s insurance co. Let them know of your damage and get a claim number. Then go and get 3 estimates from body shops in your area. There insurance co. will send out an estimator and there ya go. take it in and get it fixed and be sure to get a rental.

I don't fully understand the question here. Neither of the cars caused an accident, but somehow there was one, but you only stopped because the road was blocked by an accident?
Do you have damage? How did that damage happen? Are you at fault, or not? A copy of the police report would be the starting place, and then your agent would be the one to contact if you have, or caused, any damages. Then he would read the police report, take your statement, investigate, and do the leg work, not you.

It would depend. Is the Accident your fault? If so the other person would get Estimates and turn them into "Your" Insurance Company so they can get their Car repaired. Since you only Have Liabilty, you would be responsible for Repairing your own Car at your Cost. If it is not your Fault but the other person's, then You would get 3 Estimates and Turn them into the Insurance Company of the Person whom Damaged your Car.

I was hit in the rear by someone a few years ago. I only had liability. I had to get the police report, call their insurance agency, bring the report and my car to them in order to get paid for my damages. You should have received the insurance information from the party at fault at the time of the accident.

It is your responsibility, always, whether you have collision or not.
Your insurance protects you, and you alone, from having to pay your responsibilities. This is not about your responsibilities. The other person is at fault. Your insurance company does not have a role to play in this.
Now, a lot of people wish they would, but there's no reason for them to. It's really none of their business..

It's yours. If you only have liability coverage, and you're looking to get paid for your car, YOU have to contact the other insurer and file the claim. You didn't pay either your agent, or your insurance company, for collision coverage services.

Every company works differently.
Sounds as if you are saying it is the other party's fault. No need to alert your ins. co. if that is the case.
Call her co. to see what their procedures are. Some do require 3 estimates, some do not.

THE INSURANCE COMPANY WILL HANDLE EVERYTHING FOR YOU AND YOU SHOULD NEVER CONTACT THE OTHER PARTY AND THIS IS FOR YOUR PROTECTION.
