During the siege of Paris in 1870, starving Parisiens were forced to eat cats, dogs, horses and ,famously, rats. Apparently cat tastes a bit like rabbit whereas dog is virtually uneatable. On Douglas Mawson's expedition to Antarctica, he and his team ate their huskies, devouring the liver first as this was the most palatable but an excess of vitamin A from these choice morsels actually killed two of the members.

Like all other meat, it depends truly on your preference, I know I love chicken... I would throw something with intentions to hit my sister with, back when I used to live at home for the last drumstick.
That was true until the day my gramps brought home an OLD rooster to cook and eat. And by jeebus, it was pretty damn disgusting. BAck then I didnt know the age of meat when killed makes a real big difference.
I dont know the taste of either meats, but you should research it, I know some asian countries thrive on those kinds of meat due to lack of any other, You will find pros and cons to each and they will help you choose.
Marinade also is a factor, meats take better to certain sauces than others.

Definitely cat, especially if they are allowed to eat any mice they catch,as the mouse gives the cat meat that much more of a richer taste to it.If you are making cat curry,go easy on the spices. Also remember, the best way to have cat is let it mature, for this roadkill is very often the best option

I lived in the Pacific Islands and they ate both on occation. Dogs were used for birthday parties. Cats have to eaten before they are weaned or they get too stringy so I hear. One of my Filipino employees had two dogs, one that was eaten. The other one was named "Lucky"

A nice plump labrador, cannot beat it!
Slowly cooked on a low heat and the meat goes so tender and just falls off the bone.
Beautiful.
For Christmas dinner this year, I am having roasted Great Dane - needs to be a big one as all the family will be there.

I've heard that cat tastes like rabbit, but I can't personally vouch for that.
