I read a question on this and some people were saying not to use wipes if they're just wet, but that's gross! That leaves the urine sticking to their skin, what do you think?

No Bugsey, I'm a mom of 3, the eldest of who is 11, and I'm certainly not rich, but my kid's well being and cleanliness comes before my hip pocket or laziness.
Wait, don't you say on your profile that if you feed your baby cereals then you're a bad mom? So don't feed them specially formulated baby food, but please leave them wallowing in urine?
Eh, you'll learn.

I wipe them every time I change them, and I've got 2 in nappies so no excuses.
It's just disgusting to leave it on their skin, and frankly I think it's got to be one of the laziest parenting practices I see.

Do you only wipe when you poop? Diaper rash comes from kids sitting in dirty diapers too long. It's more the irritants is the "waste" than the moisture. I Always wipe him and change him often and bathe him everyday and make sure he's in the proper size diaper and clothing so he isn't irritated by a tight fit and it's been two years and we've never had a single diaper rash. ********************* If he was standing up to pee in a urinal and not getting pee all over his area...then I don't' think wiping would be an issue... But since we're talking about kids in diapers here...the sex is irrelevant...either boy or girl are still soiling diapers with urine that are being pressed up against their skin...boy or girl...wipe off the pee. It's really quite simple.

Yes I use wipes or at least a wet cloth every time I change/d my childrens diapers. Not only is urine strong smelling but it can cause diaper rashes if left on their sensstive skin. Plus urine is filled with bacteria that can travel back up the urethra and cause urinary tract infections which in turn can cause bladder or kidney infections.

I have three boys. All of which get, or used to get when they were in diapers, cleaned with every change. Only very rairly are they not. Bacteria grows on wet skin - even if its just water, let alone urine. Especialy in areas of folded skin. Changing into a dry diaper doesnt remove the already existing bacteria off of the baby's skin. Its just a good idea, plus it teaches them good hygene.

Yes, I still do wipe my son even if it's just urine. Just think about it, don't you wipe your self when you pee? I know older guys don't wipe when they pee, but they don't sit in it for a while until their parents realize that they are wet. A lot fo bacteria can build in their if you just keep putting on another diaper over the urine still on his skin.

I agree with you. I am the mother of four and I used wipes even with pee most of the time. I would not want them smelling like pee and also the acid in pee could give the baby a rash. If I was out and didn't have a wipe for some reason then I might skip it.

I do everytime. Its different for a baby as to potty trained kids and older. They dont sit in a wet diaper. Urine burns the skin. That would be the same if a grown person peed their pants, and didnt clean off, Gross!!! Can you imagine peeing yourself any not cleaning it?? Thats gross, even if its dried, there is still urine on them. Why would you want to leave urine on them? Imagine once you get old, and if you had to wear adult diapers, and not cleaning after peeing. That would burn.

I ALWAYS used wipes on my daughter when I changed her wet diapers. And I worked in a daycare for 3 years & always used wipes on them too. Don't we wipe ourselves when we go to the bathroom? That would be like an adult peeing in their underwear & then just changing to a clean pair of undies without cleaning themself off. Eww. Not wiping a child after a wet diaper can lead to rashes, smelliness & just bad hygeine. Always, always wipe.

I've always wiped after my kids peed with a wipe. Didn't want to risk diaper rashes. After all, when we use the bathroom, we wipe ourselves, right? Why not clean a little one after doing so.
