That is what it was invented for. Take one or two early in the headache for fastest results. If possible get the enteric-coated ones to avoid stomach upsets from them.

Aspirin treats the symptoms. It's important to remember the 'prevention is better than cure' line. Realise what has given you the headache, either too much sun, over tiredness, alcohol etc, then take steps to challenge this in the future.
Lying down in a quiet room, with no distraction like the TV or radio, and making sure that the curtains are drawn, will go a long way to making you feel better. Sometimes a cold washer on your forehead is a good idea as well.

Aspirin is the only medicine that is alright to mix with alcohol, acetaminophen and ibuprofen are really harsh on your liver when mixed with alcohol. It may temporarily help you but you just need to drink a lot of water and time. It has been proven though that it's a myth that you will avoid a hangover if you take an aspirin before you start drinking or while drinking. Aspirin makes your body absorb the alcohol faster than you would normally, thus giving you an even worse hangover in the morning. I hope you feel better!

Not for me I need NSAIDS for my headaches. Aspirin should help but have some water and food too.

Asprin can work
but the number one reason for getting a headache is dehydration so before you do that try drinking a big glass of water and i bet in few minutes your headache will subside.
