I have had to stop using certain soaps because they are so harsh they are literally taking my skin off.
What the hell kind of ingredients are in some of these things to be causing this?

most commercial products use industrial proportions of chemical ingredients in their formulations, thereby sacrificing the potency and bypassing natural alternatives.. why?.. because going natural and more potent formulations are more expensive.. and for most, that's business, where business is making profits... the overall effect on consumers is you get little or no results from what you buy..

I use the Papaya Line from Bee-Luscious! It has real papaya enzymes in it to naturally dissolve dead skin, oils and dirt without harming live cells. It is truly amazing how it make your skin feel!!!!

I have no idea, but I use J&J unscented baby soap.
