I never heard of Chrissmast until my friend Kumiko tells jokes about it. My lover used to be her lover. He took her to Cartier and told her to choose watch for gift. She does not wear watch, but she likes the "Love" bracelets. A clerk says messages can be engraved on bracelet. Lover want "You are only girl I will ever love!". Then he says engrave that on 6 bracelets for Kumiko and his 5 other lovers. Bracelet cost $3000 then. Kumiko said he may do the same thing to me.other jokes were vulgar. I not want to celebrate this Crismass.

But first it was Yule. And to people in other parts of the world it has different names. The holiday season is about spending time with your family.
On a side note is has been found that the mythical figure of Jesus was actually born in the spring and the celebration of his birth was moved to coincide with the pagan holiday of Yule.

Will you be celebrating Thors day this Thursday? Christmas is widely accepted label for what has always existed as a winter festival around the solstice time. For some not all it means a religious holiday. It is derived from Saturnalia and Yule pagan festivals and most of the traditions aside from the religious ones have nothing or little to do with Christianity. Gift giving was done at Saturnalia. The tree is from the pagan custom of bringing evergreens inside to remind people of life and its return in spring in the darkness of winter. The Santa lore is a hopeless meld of Pagan/Christian/secular mythology. So its not inappropriate for non Christians to partake of those aspects that have meaning for them. I would think that some who are trying to be supportive of loved ones who are Christian even indulge their family and loved ones by sharing traditions with them out of love and family unity. Do you condemn that? You are a fine example of how belief in C-H-R-I-S-T doesn't necessarily put L-O-V-E in a person's heart.

How 'bout the winter solstice, or Yule? How many atheists are going to celebrate Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa? Come on dude..enough of this lame troll of a question...

I like to celebrate the fact that there seems to be a lot more peace in the world during December, but apparently there's no peace with you guys, since you just love to stir this up, eh?

btw Jesus wasn't born in December!!!

It all depends on how well informed is the Atheist!

Jesus is the illegitimate child of Saint Joseph. The Virgin Mary was never married to God the Holy Ghost, either! She was a single mother when she was birthing God the Son Jesus Christ! This is the only reason why the Early Church Fathers came up with the brilliant idea to keep Mary a virgin for ever otherwise the morality of the whole affair would be very, very questionable and most likely unacceptable, but the perpetual virginity idea made Christianity to fly!!! Otherwise it would be obvious to everybody that Jesus is a b-a-s-ta-r-d. Fortunatelly in those days it was very easy to edit anything written before and the Councils did the rest!!!

On top of all that God the Son Jesus Christ turned out to be a vicious killer of innocent children just like his alleged Father in Heaven!

Revelation 2:23 (NIV) (Jesus says) I WILL STRIKE HER CHILDREN DEAD. Then ALL THE CHURCHES WILL KNOW that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

Luke 19:27 (Jesus was very excited telling this story!) But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them–bring them here and kill them in front of me.

Only a bloody tyrant would talk like that! Christians demand a much higher standard of morality from their clergy, and the preachers, and the politicians than from Jesus Christ! That's hypocrisy! Why is it that in Christianity everything is KILLING… KILLING… KILLING… and more KILLING…??? Isn’t Christianity a Barbaric religion just like Islam? All the sugar coating in Christianity is so repulsive! Can any Christian understand? Please, reporting me is not the best answer it only proves how puny is the Bible God!

So Merry C-h-r-i-s-t-m-a-s-s to you, too!

My atheist husband doesn't exactly celebrate this time of year. He'll buy gifts and help wrap them but he says that's tradition for him not because it's an important holiday to him. I celebrate Yule. So I put the tree and decorations up and bake Yule cookies and treats. My husband is fine with that.

The birth of your lord did not take place on 25th December (f in fact it took place at all, which is still open for debate).

The early christian church nicked the pagan celebration of Yule because they couldn't stamp it out. If you can't stop people celebrating then you change the reason for the celebration. (See also : Easter which was superimposed over Beltane)

Welcome to our Yule celebrations - sit down, be at peace, stop torturing yourself and other people with thoughts of heaven and hell (they don't exist except in your own mind), have a cake and a good slug of alcohol - be happy.

No atheist is going to celebrate Jesus on Christmas. What many are going to do, however, is spend time with family, put up a tree, put up lights, give out gifts, and have dinner as a family -- none of which have to do with the religious aspect of the holiday.

How many Christians are going to celebrate the winter solstice like the pagans? That's all Christmas is.

If you want to use Dec 25 to celebrate the birth of Jesus, you may do so but the day is truly all about Yule and the winter solistice.
