Whenever I eat or drink something that is coffee flavored or has coffee in it, my throat closes up a bit and I wheeze when I breathe. Does that mean I'm allergic to coffee?

It sounds like you are allergic to coffee. You can be allergic to anything even water. If you feel you have to have coffee, try taking antihistamine before you have any. I would try to avoid it though, sometimes the reactions can increase in severity if you continue to subject yourself to an allergen. Breathing problems is a fairly serious reaction to something. It sounds like you should probably consult an allergist or at least a family doctor.

It certainly sounds like you are allergic to coffee. When I had allergy testing done, I tested allergic to coffee. That means you cannot have decaf. either since the coffee is the problem instead of the caffeine.

It sure sounds like you are allergic to it or at least intolerant of it. the best remedy in avoidance. If you do get ahold of something that causes this reaction take benadryl. I am allergic in the same way to fish, it causes the same symptoms. It is not something to toy with.
