Poaching is a legal term. To go against local laws regarding hunting one must have a need for something. Food, Money, Personal desire. No need here.

Poaching feral cats is always OK. If you are unfortunate enough to live in a place where shooting feral cats is illegal, then you are forced to be a poacher.

Nothing wrong with killing and eating the meat and wearing the fur.
Poaching is stealing. When would you steal, and who would you feel it's ok to steal from?
